The name’s Pask... Phil Pask OUR MAN Phil Pask gets to grips with James Bond actor Daniel Craig in the British & Irish Lions changing room following the touring side’s win in Australia this summer. Naturally Phil couldn’t tell us details of his top secret conversation with 007, but we know where he’ll be coming for treatment next time he’s injured in the line of duty!

Pilates gets the WPB treatment! Join our expert Leian to improve your muscle strength, endurance and overall flexibility WE’RE PROUD to announce we are now offering five-week intensive Pilates classes headed-up by our very own Leian lee. Pilates is a form of dynamic stabilisation retraining that conditions the body from the central core to prevent the reoccurrence of and treat a range of postural, musculoskeletal, and sports related conditions. Alongside our established Pilates courses, from November we will be offering more tailored classes designed for anyone looking to hit the slopes this winter as we introduce ‘Skilates’! For Skiers and Snowboarders alike, Pilates can promote body awareness,

identify muscle imbalances and improve ski specific muscle strength and flexibility. It can be a valuable element of effective preparation and has the potential to improve technique and ability and thus the enjoyment of hurtling downhill with a rigid skis/ snowboard attached to the feet! The benefit of training with us is that all classes are Physiotherapistled, meaning that you’re in expert hands. On top of that, our sessions are kept to a maximum of four people at a time, so that we can tailor the sessions to specifically address the needs of the participants – from beginners through to the more proficient. For those with current injury

concerns, a formal Physiotherapy assessment session prior to the course is advised. But if you’re just looking to improve your strength and be better prepared for the exertions of your trip, then feel free to reserve your place on a Pilates course now! Cost for a five-week course works out at just £30 per session. Email us at reception@wpbphysio.co.uk or call us on 01604 601641 to reserve your place now!

Claire meets and treats runner Tony ‘The Fridge’ CLAIRE did her bit for charity recently and treated a Land’s End to John o’Groats runner with a difference. Geordie Tony ‘The Fridge’ visited us while running the length of the UK - a seriously impressive feat. But then consider he did the entire challenge while carrying a 42kg fridge on his back, you then realise the scale of the achievement. Raising money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, Tony asked on Twitter who were the best physiotherapists in Northamptonshire, that could help sooth his understandable aches and pains. And we were delighted to see that several loyal patients recommended us, meaning Tony could sit back and relax in the capable hands of Claire, who made sure he was fit to complete the rest of his incredible 837 mile run. You can follow the incredible feats of Tony on Twitter at Twitter. com/tony_the_fridge.
