This booklet will cover designs of house plans with interior blueprints influenced by the Cambodian culture that all include a length or a width of either 82.9409 or 41.4704 feet (close to 25 or 12.5 meters). In these designs and concepts, there will be a recommended number of family members to reside in the location such as design 1 for a family member of 2, design 2 for a family member of 3, and design 3 for a family member of 4. In all three of these designs, you will expect to see bedrooms, toilets, a garage, a kitchen, a dining area/room, living room(s), and a laundry room. Other designs could also include a different amenities such as a movie theatre and a fitness room.
This project consists of producing a booklet that includes house plans with an interior blueprint made by using AutoCAD while also having the design influenced by my culture, the Cambodian culture. This project reflects on the skills I have/obtained during the creation of the product such as my selfmanagement skills as I have managed to include time to work on this project while balancing out school and personal duties. This project focuses on the global context of personal and cultural expression as this project is aimed towards promoting my culture, the Cambodian culture which is personal towards me and also a form of expression.
Design number 1 is an average house in Cambodia containing the necessities Cambodian people require to function in their daily lives This truly expresses the Cambodian culture of how they live and really displays the Cambodian architect. A key factor involved in the design process of this house plan and many other Cambodian architecture is the involvement of Feng Shui as this design used square and rectangles structure which is believed to provide the resident good luck and harmony

This design involves many unique rooms that can ensure the comfort of the residents from the structure and space. Starting, the house has an entrance that allows easy access and a welcoming vibe for the residents. Upon entering, they will be greeted with a toilet on the left-hand side and also a laundry area. The two bedrooms consist of a 29.8587 by 16 5882-foot room that provides the residents with a plentiful amount of space to fully relax and stay comfortable It is connected with a bathroom for easy access The residential also contains a dining area that is well located near the kitchen for easier access to food while also being convenient in terms of time from where the food is cooked to where it will be eaten. The living room is located in a very open-spaced location including two windows for a more engaging experience with nature/outside making the residents more relaxed and comfortable. The garage is spacious with a fully automatic garage door that allows easy access to park the car inside or drive out The garage also includes a window for more connectivity with nature while having a door to access inside the house This is your typical Cambodian house simplistic and old-fashioned.
Design number two displays the concept of a very fancy and modern Cambodian architecture that is in a layout of columns that are more commonly found in the streets of Cambodia. Unlike other concepts, this design consists of fancy and unique amenities such as a theatre and an office. Not only that, this design uses Feng shui as this design consists of a square/rectangular shape structure while also having a public area at the front of the house which provides good luck and better influence in life Not only that, the beds in the house plan are also not aligned with the door which in terms of Feng Shui means driving away the evil spirits and not being awoken in the middle of the night by someone or something else from the door.

This design consists of 11 unique rooms in total. upon walking in, you will be greeted with a garage on the left and a living room on the right. The living room is doorless for easier access and aesthetics while the garage is your typical garage Going deeper, you will find the kitchen and dining area on the right with no wall separation for aesthetics and a twist on Cambodian architectural culture. On the left hand, you will find a room typically rare in Cambodian homes which is a theatre as theatres are normally not well known and used in Cambodian culture to be placed in their house. Going to the back of the house, you will find your typical toilet and laundry area on the left and a master bedroom deeper on the left with a bathroom and two bedrooms on the right with their own personal bathroom as Cambodian homes normally tend to have their own bathroom in the room.
Design number three uses the concept of borey, an area that is designed with multiple estates together while also being a form of business for the owner of the borey. The concept of borey influenced Cambodian architecture as most Cambodians live in a borey due to its location and security measures. Compared to other houses in Cambodia, we can see that this design allows an area within the land to be used as a garden, unlike column houses. In this design, Feng Shui can be seen involved in the concept of making this house plan as the public area would be at the front of the house while the private area at the back of the house The structure is also mainly squares and rectangles which is more favorable in terms of Feng Shui to provide good luck and power.

In design 3, there are a total of 12 unique amenities. Upon walking in from the gate, you will be greeted with a garage for your vehicles for easy access to drive and park in the house or drive out of the house. In front of the garage, there is a pathway towards the front entrance and foyer. On the right side of the front entrance is a pathway that leads to the garden and swimming pool This creates a sense of relaxation and a spacious area for people to go in and out Going into the foyer, you will stumble upon the living room with a spacious environment with the toilet and laundry area on the right-hand side behind the living room which are considered a public area placed at the front of the house, provides the resident power and influence according to the Feng Shui. Going past the living room is the dining area and kitchen which is spacious with windows to provide a more natural bond with the environment outside. Going to the back of the house is a twin bedroom with a bathroom inside the room for 2 people while also a pantry close outside the room for easier access to food/snacks Going to the right is two bedroom for single people only with bathroom connected
All 3 of these designs consist of the use of Cambodian architectural inspiration. With design/concept 1, the Cambodian architectural inspiration comes from the house's Feng Shui layout and the form of the house, which in this case is an ordinary Cambodian house that you will find everywhere with your typical rectangular house layout. In design 2, you can see that the Cambodian architectural influence also comes from Feng Shui which is very important in Cambodian architecture, and also the house layout which is also another rectangular layout however the interior of the house consists of more modern and fancy amenities such as a theatre and a office area which is more uncommon in your typical Cambodian household however still involved in current day Cambodian Architecture. In design 3, we can really see the Cambodian architectural influence in the use of Feng Shui and also mainly the house layout being a borey theme layout which is more commonly found in Cambodia as residents in Cambodia prefer to live in a borey due to its safety and also convenience to access stores like convenience store. I hope that you are able to learn more about the different types of Cambodian architecture that can be found in Cambodia from this booklet and also continue to bring a piece of the Cambodian culture everywhere you go!
Reflecting back on my work from the start, I really wanted to do a project that is based on architecture mainly based on house plans which later brought the idea of Cambodian architectural culture and how it has shaped Cambodia into what it is today. I really wanted to inform the audience about this not-so-well-known architectural style which is the sole purpose of doing this project. At the start of making this product, I didn't know much about the system of AutoCAD evermore designing houses with Feng Shui but after researching and looking/visiting locations with Cambodian architecture, I gained a view of this style. From thoroughly getting better at designing house plans using AutoCAD, I have created these three designs from scratch out of my creativity. Looking into the ATL skills I have developed/gained throughout the project, the main ATL skill I have gained and developed is my communications skills as making a booklet that is eye-catching and also engaging can be a difficult task for people which after looking at similar products as mine from other successful products, I have improved this skills. This links to the ATL Higher-Level Framework, “Listen actively to other perspectives and ideas”. This project also connects to the global context of “Personal and Cultural Expression” as I am expressing my own personal culture through this booklet. This projects also link to some learner profiles however the main learner profile that links to this project is the communicator profile as a part of creating the booklet creatively and also uniquely is a part of communicating your ideas through this form which is a booklet.
