FAMILY GALLERY The late Silvanus Aonga Wasigu was born on 20th August 1963 to The late Eliachim Wasigu and mama Phelgona Anyango of Mlaga village, Sirembe sub-location North West Gem in Yala Division.

He was the last born in a family of six namely: The late Jeremiah Awuor, The late Lucia Pinya, Peter Ochuoga, Fredrick Nyamango and Maria Mrende.

The late attended Sirembe primary school where he studied till standard three, he was later transferred to Union Primary School in Kisumu where he did CPE staying with his late sister Lucia and Brother in-law Mr. Ambaso. He later joined a driving school while staying with the late Zadock Losio in Turi where he trained as a tractor driver and taken a short course in horticultural crops farming before later proceeding to a course on heavy commercial vehicles after which he moved to Molo where started his independent life.

The late first got employed with ADC firm in Molo as a driver which he left immediately after the death of his late brother Jeremiah. He later tried offering Catering services before securing a job at Peche Foods a Fish Processing Industry in Kisumu.

The late Silvanus joined Matatu Industry as a PSV driver with Nyaueni travellers and Awenga Ratego where he got the name Tyson due to his unique driving style and his self personality.

He late joined Long distance travelling as a Truck driver where he worked for several Oil companies before terminating his employment life at Sirembe Secondary School where he was also employed as a driver.

Besides his employment life he practiced agriculture vastly ranging from horticultural crops to livestock rearing until his demise.

The late Silvanus Aonga Wasigu wedded Risper Aoko Aonga daughter of Silphanus Nyandat Owade, The late Priscah Adhoch Nyandat and Sarah Jenipher Nyandat. Sister to The Late Rev. Luke Odiwo Nyandat, The Late Ambrose Otieno Nyandat, Jane Akinyi Matunga, The late Helida Awiti Otiato, Maurine Atieno and Rev. Jared Omondi Nyandat of Central Gem Ndagaria, This coulourful wedding was witnessed in Uhonya God’s Last Appeal Church on 20th September 1992.

They were blessed with six children i.e. three sons and three daughters namely: Felix Odhiambo (Ndugu), Caren Priscah Anyango(Nyangoni), Carolyne Awuor, Cynthia Achieng, The late Collins Nyandat and Lameck Odiwo.

Blessed with six grand children namely: Vallery Awuor, Siland Aonga, Shania Chepkoech, Andy Risper, Silvanus Ochieng Omondi and Risper Chelimo.

He was the father in law to George Omondi Ochieng, Nimrod Kipng’etich and Erick.

He was the uncle to Isaac Alila, James Otiende, Benta (Kadogo), Kodiso Kamoi, Lukas Sande, Benard Omondi, Jecinter Akinyi, Janet Luyo, Margaret Ajuma, Maurice Otieno Otiato among others.

Tyson’s life had been strong and hardworking until 15th February 2020 when he developed fatigue and could not walk properly. He sought treatment at Inuka Hospital and later transferred to Siaya County Referral hospital where he was diagnosed with Arthritis and he positively responded to treatment.

In August 2020 he again experienced a sudden onset of the limbs and they became weak and started swelling and he could not walk. He was taken back to Siaya Referral hospital in November 2020 and an X-ray was done which revealed that he had cracks in the spine and they requested for further examination to be done which happened in Russia hospital Kisumu on 30th November 2020. This further revealed that his disk had collapsed but due to Doctors’ and nurses strike he was brought home for home-based-care. He was later booked for 8th February, 2021 to be seen by a general surgeon and also on 9th February 2021 to be examined by neuro surgeon but on Friday 5th February 2021 he developed more health complications, became restless and succumbed on Saturday 6th February 2021 at 05.00 am.

Its God who gives and to him we belong, rest in eternal peace Dere.

You were such a wonderful man. I'm not sure I can really express just how much I will miss you. You were a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, best friend, and colleague . Your ability to make your family feel comfortable, secure and loved were your greatest strengths which resulted to most people falling on your wrong side. You were my soul mate and my inspiration – my steadfast rock that helped me through thick and thin. You supported and loved us all, and was always there to help us navigate through life’s challenges. Even the times we had misunderstandings you were always ready for reconciliation. You may be in heaven now, but I know you are looking down at us with a big smile on your face saying, “Forge ahead – make the best of life – and I’ll see you soon. We have work to do up here, too. Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about, impress, sometimes rebel against, and, someone, most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer. Though I have scored dismally to what's required of me as the first son of the family. I cannot promise but I know that there is a God who changes destinies. Rest in peace Dad.— FELIX, SON Dad you were the light of my life. Even as a little girl, I remember you giving me so much affection. You had a wicked sense of love that rubbed off on anyone that was near you. No one felt lonely around you for too long – although you had a serious side too,now that you are gone, I doesn't regret spending almost every coin hopping that you would recover. Rest well Dad.— PRISCAH, DAUGHTER. Your love, your patience, your understanding, your wisdom and your amazing art of hard work will live on inside us forever.
