The internet has provided a large platform for brands to expand their services and overall company, and it is a great opportunity to take up on especially with it being a growing industry and those that fail to take advantage will be left behind. Therefore, in this assignment I will be discussing the benefits the internet can pose to my selected organisation of Morrisons. Like many other supermarkets, Morrisons have provided their consumers with the option to shop online and have their groceries delivered to their door as a result of the use of the internet. Customer’s would not be required to leave the comfort of their own home to shop within the Morrisons aisles and they would also be under no time constraint as it would be available to them all hours of the day, seven days a week. When ordering groceries, certain details would be asked of the customer, for example their address, the customers would then have the option to save these details so if they in future want to purchase items from Morrisons, their details would be already saved which would make it more efficient and a generally easier process. Simplification when purchasing is something consumers always look for and would often be put off by something that requires a lengthy process, so the fact that ordering for delivery is so easy to do would help a lot with customer retention because their details have previously been saved with Morrisons and would therefore prefer to shop there rather than changing and having to fill in certain details once again which makes the process of ordering long and tedious. Morrisons do use premium pricing which is a strategy which involves them placing products at a relatively high price to try and value that product more than it is actually worth. Executing this well, would see Morrisons increase profit margins and the number of sales which would be the main goal of theirs. In terms of the placing of the products, the internet makes it so much easier for the items to become available to customers when that stock is received as they can display that item on their store. However, that process may be time consuming in real life as employees would have to manually stock those
