Tips for Success

When it’s time to load up the trailer to hit the show ring, there can be many matters to figure out to make the event successful. Raise your hand if you’ve ever been stressed going to a show? When you consider attending an ASA show, don’t let these matters make your trip stressful or worrisome.

Tips for Show Success:

• Enter on time and check it twice. No one wants to get to a show only to realize you entered the wrong animal (Or forgot one all together). Should you notice an error prior to the show, contact staff to resolve the issue ASAP. • Stalling requests should be sent with entries or to staff ASAP. Think of stalling assignments as one big puzzle. Each puzzle piece is a different size, and there may only be one perfect match for each piece. The sooner we know specific requests, the better your chances are to be stalled with the people you want to be with or where you want to be stalled. • Remember to check the show schedule for all times and locations. Check-in and show start times are important to follow so you do not miss any deadlines and arrival times. • Bring your animal registration papers to check-in. ASA staff will accept digital or physical copies of registration papers. Check each show you attend to see if they have specific requirements. • ASA Staff will do our best to have printed programs at every National or Super National Show. Many variables are affecting the supply chain and staff shortages at the printers can delay our timeline of receiving printed programs. Programs will be posted online as soon as it is finalized. Printed programs may not be available until day of show in some cases. • Should you decide to stay in a hotel, watch for information about host hotels through the ASA. These room rates will be exclusive to ASA exhibitors. Most cut off dates for securing a room is a month before the show. • And last, but certainly not least, remember that a winning attitude goes a long way toward achieving success.

Every show will bring new challenges, and through overcoming these challenges we grow and develop with each trial. We look forward to seeing each exhibitor and breeder at our upcoming shows and can’t wait to see you achieve success! =
