CONCEPT

The definition of the word ‘Intertwine’ itself is connect or link two or more things closely. With this title concept, it gives a bigger picture on how the design of the library will answer the main goals and problems.

Future libraries should bring something new and innovative for everyone. It should support all academic and non-academic activities with an enjoyable approach, no boundaries, and be able to connect people. As the main goals are to support collaboration, to boost up creativity, to create an enjoyable space, and to facilitate a modern-kind of study, the main highlight from this library design is the cylinder-kind center where the existing pine trees are preserved and surrounded by radial-shaped buildings around it.This building design supports the meaning of connecting. This design helps connect people with other people, nature and technologies.

KONSEP DESAIN ARSITEKTUR

Psithurism memiliki arti suara gemerisik daun yang tertiup angin. Tujuan dari konsep ini adalah penghuni bisa mendengar suara gemerisik daun tersebut, yang berarti kehadiran alam sangat dekat dengan penghuni. Konsep ini menjadi solusi desain yang tepat untuk mengatasi problem statement.

Climate Respond - Driyorejo, Gresik memiliki iklim tropis, cenderung panas & lembab, rata2 suhu yang cukup tinggi, sehingga dengan hadirnya kedekatan dengan alam dapat menyejukkan & menurunkan internal heat gain bangunan

Social Impact - Kedekatan dengan alam memberi dampak positif pada otak, tubuh, perasaan, pikiran dan interaksi sosial manusia. Konsep ini diimplementasikan dengan cara perbanyak outdoor spaces, salah satunya dalam bentuk Refuge floor & Balcony pada bangunan apartment

Environment - Menggunakan material natural elements. Mendukung upaya ramah lingkungan & penggunaan hemat energi

Economy - Dengan hemat energi, dapat menekan biaya pengeluaran

SOLUTION

"A Dynamic Business World"

For so long, Surabaya has been known as a harbor city in the East Java province, having the role of the ‘entrance gate’ for traders or merchants and becoming the center of economic growth on the island. This history became the inspiration for the building form, to show how dynamic the business and economic condition of Surabaya is, since the era of Majapahit kingdom up till today standing as the second largest city in Indonesia. ‘Dwara Ardana’ itself derived from the Sanskrit language, which is the language used during the heyday of the Majapahit kingdom in East Java. ‘Dwara’ means gate or entrance, while Ardana’ means wealth or treasure.
