Textures
The Envelope I wanted to find an earthy coloured texture that would be appropriate to use with a piece of work designed to promote awareness of the environment. I liked the texture of this brown envelope because it reminded me of the recycled brown paper bags. I think this envelope would work well as a background texture.
I ripped the corner of the envelope to get a more interesting texture and also so I could vary the texture in my pieces.
The Atlas I found an Atlas and thought that the cover had an interesting image and texture. I liked the image as whole because of how it shows the longitude and latitude of the planet, but also liked the cover at a closer angle.The gold lines were slightly embossed and this made an interesting texture.
The Book I found the following pages from a book about a castle in Wales that I thought had some interesting images and text that could be used for layering and making textures, especially influenced by Dave McKean.
