RANGE

A STYLISH HYBRID OF PURE PERFORMANCE AND ULTIMATE FAMILY CRUISING

The X range is designed to meet the demands of sailors who want to enjoy sailing in a wide variety of conditions, as well as have all the luxury you would expect from the clean, timeless Danish style that is synonymous with X-Yachts.

The first X43 was launched in the summer of 2016, representing exceptional sailing abilities and spacious airy interior in a luxury style. It was popular from the very beginning with its functional design, working both at sea as well as in harbours. With the success of the X43, it made perfect sense to continue with the X49 and the X46, both launched in 2018. The X40 – Boat Of The Year award winner 2020 – was developed and launched in 2019, and in 2021 came the flagship X56, selling three times the expected numbers already in the first year. In 2022 the new X43 was introduced and sales immediately boosted with 40+ units.

In the spring of 2024, the successful X49 was launched in an updated version with many new improvements.

POCKET LUXURY

The X40 – winner of European Boat Of The Year 2020 – is the entry model in the Pure X range, blending quality, performance and styling with cruising capability.

X-Yachts introduced the advanced epoxy infusion sandwich technology already in 2007. Epoxy infusion gives fantastic control over the laminate and makes it possible to maximise strength and stiffness, whilst at the same time also saving weight.

The weight saved in the hull makes it possible to put more weight in the keel, increasing the yacht’s stability and eventually giving the crew a more comfortable and safer time on the water. Not to forget that it also makes the boat faster.

SAILING

THE X4 0

The X40 can sail fast and point high to the wind thanks to its powerful lines, precision moulded composite T keel with a heavy bulb of lead giving a high degree of stability. The standard upwind sail area of 78 m² enables the X40 to hit upwind speed of 6.5 knots already at 12 knots true wind speed.

TECHNICAL

The X40 comes standard with the latest generation 40 HP Yanmar diesel commonrail engine. The engine is mounted onto special rubber shock absorbers to minimise vibrations, and the engine compartments fitted with sound reduction insulation to minimise noise.

8 X-YACHTS

MAST & RIG

The X40 benefits from an efficient sail plan with the discontinued rod rigging and tapered double spreader mast. As with all X-Yachts, the standing rigging is specified above industry standard to match the stiff hull construction, reduce stretch and to stop the mast pumping whilst sailing upwind into a heavy sea. This rig is incredibly stiff, providing a reassuring feel of safety and maintaining excellent sail shape and trim, satisfying the demanding cruiser and also appealing to the crew, who want to take the X40 racing.

DECK LAYOUT

The standard deck layout comes with 4 winches: two halyard winches for self-tacker sheet and control line winches next to the entrance, and two main sheet winches aft of the cockpit’s backrest coamings within reach of the helmsman. The deck has an integrated recessed self-tacker track for an 88% jib. The sail plan can be made even more powerful with adding longitudinal Jib tracks and two dedicated Genoa sheet winches on top of the cockpit backrest coamings, enabling the Genoa size to go up to 106% for improved light wind performance.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

The interior of the X40 was designed to maximise the space available, creating a functional, safe and stylish user experience below deck. Once again, the interior design has proven Danish design flair and carpentry at its very best. The craftsmanship and detailing are of a very high standard, being traditional, but with a modern appearance. The wooden veneer is Nordic Oak as standard, with other options on offer. There is plenty of natural light and ventilation throughout the entire accommodation.

CONSTRUCTION

At the heart of the X40 is the galvanized steel keel grillage structure. Pioneered by X-Yachts back in 1981, the galvanized steel hull girder offers superb reassurance and safety. Its primary role is to spread keel and mast loads into the hull, but it also enables the yacht to withstand extreme shock loads from grounding or an impact with a submersed object. Not only is the keel structure immensely strong, but it is also reliable and very easy to inspect for potential damage. Bolted to the steel grillage is the keel with iron fin and heavy lead bulb with moderate draft. There is both a shallow and a deep draft option available.

LAYOUT OPTIONS

The X40 is available in a 2-cabin and a 3-cabin layout. The standard layout has a head compartment with separate shower compartment to starboard aft of the forward-facing navigation station with full length sofa.

SAIL AREAS

P = 15.55 m, E = 5.24 m, ISP = 16.60 m, J = 4.33 m

“The new X4³ can to some extent be described as a smaller version of the X5 6 . The development of the model is considered to be a natural evolution incorporating the lessons learned and the visual appearance of especially the X4 6 and X4 0 , and after having launched the X5 6 , we saw some opportunities for the X4³ to lift her to an even higher level”.

REDESIGNED HULL AND S-BOW DESIGN

The redesigned hull shape features wider stern sections above the waterline with the widest point brought further aft and with soft chines. This increases the downwind performance and allows for a much wider cockpit aft. Furthermore, the S-bow design and integrated standard bow sprit introduced on the X56 have been incorporated.

The mast height and hence the sail plan have been increased compared to the previous model to add to the performance and utilize the added hull stability. The longer bow sprit allows for bigger and freer flying gennakers.

DECK & SPRAYHOOD

The deck and deck liner have been completely redesigned. The appearance of coachroof and coamings is brought to the more modern styling of the other Pure X models – and beyond.

The deck layout features longitudinal jib tracks as standard, but a self tacking track recessed into the cabin top is available as option. However, when this option is not chosen, the recess will be covered so that the aesthetic flush appearance of the cabin top is maintained.

The cabin side portlights are designed with the same type of openable sections as on the X40 and X46 allowing for better ventilation and a simpler aesthetic appearance.

The cruising sailor can look forward to a redesigned sprayhood layout – and apart from protecting the family from rough weather at sea, the shape of the sprayhood will be offering a sleeker visual appearance and a better forward view for the helmsman than on previous designs.

SPACIOUS COCKPIT

The X4³ cockpit area is wide and spacious and at the companionway, the hinged acrylic doors and integrated rope storage at the sides – provide good rope storage and comfortable access to the cabins.

THE INTERIOR

The wide aft section of the hull and slightly raised cockpit floor allows for spacious aft cabins and berth.

SPACIOUS LIVING

Danish design and architecture are famous for their clean, timeless style. It showcases luxury whilst also being functionally designed to work out on the open seas or moored up in harbour. Superior quality, detailed interior carpentry and selected materials set the boat apart from mass produced boats, delivering an exquisite, natural interior. Numerous deck and hull portlights allow for ample natural light to flood in, gifting the interior with a bright and roomy ambiance.

Plentiful storage space throughout allows for an uncluttered, ‘live on board’ lifestyle, giving you a place one can retreat to when the weather outside is less forgiving.

EXTERIOR

The hull is made using vacuum infused epoxy sandwich lamination technology to ensure maximum strength and safety. The combination of high keel weight and powerful sail plan makes the X43 a dream to sail into wind and waves.

Plenty of fixed hull and deck port lights as well as openable deck hatches and portlights ensure maximum interior ventilation and light. Six well-sized, selftailing winches for halyards, genoa and main sheet.

All X-Yachts quality features including encapsulated lead keel, hydraulic backstay adjuster, discontinuous rod rigging, and Spectra halyards are standard.

THE PERFECT FAMILY CRUISER

The X46 is a hybrid between the X43 and the X49, sitting exactly in the middle. Shortly after her launch, the X46 was nominated European Yacht of the Year 2019.

SAILING THE X4 6

A hull with powerful lines and a precision moulded composite T-keel with a heavy bulb of lead gives a high degree of stability. This enables the X46 to sail fast and point high to the wind. The 64 m2 mainsail and 41 m2 selftacking jib makes the X46 at 12 knots true wind already hits 7 knobs boat speed.

LIGHT, STRONG AND STIFF

Epoxy construction saves weight and maximises strength and stiffness. In the Pure X range, all weight savings are used to increase the yacht’s stability, enabling the crew to have a more relaxed time and be safer and more comfortable. X-Yachts is one of the few production yacht builders building all hulls in epoxy vacuum infused technology.

MAST & RIG

An efficient sail plan with discontinued rod rigging, tapered double spreader mast and a deck layout that satisfies both the demanding cruiser and the crew who wants to take the X46 to the race course.

DECK LAYOUT

The standard deck layout comes with 4 winches: Two for halyards, selftacker sheet and control lines placed next to the entrance, and two main sheet winches aft of the cockpit’s backrest coamings within reach of the helmsman. The deck recessed genoa self-tacker track is for an 88% jib. There is an option for coach roof top fitted longitudinal genoa tracks and two dedicated genoa sheet winches on top of the cockpit’s backrest coamings, enabling the genoa size to go up to 106% for improved light wind performance.

CRAFTMANSHIP

Once again, the interior design is Danish quality carpentry at its very best. The craftsmanship and detailing have a very high standard, being traditional but still with a modern appearance.

The wooden veneer is Nordic Oak as standard, with other options on offer.

There is plenty of natural light and ventilation throughout the entire accommodation.

TECHNICAL

The X46 comes standard with a 57 HP Yanmar diesel common rail engine, and a 2-blade folding propeller on an S-drive installation. The engine is mounted on special rubber shock absorbers to minimise vibrations, and the engine compartment has high quality noise reduction.

SUPERIOR SAILING PLEASURE

The X56 is a fifty-six-foot performance cruising yacht designed with serious cruising in mind, be it crossing the Atlantic, exploring beautiful Mediterranean islands or the Scandinavian archipelago. The X56 joins the hugely successful Pure X Range.

The design philosophy was very clear from the outset – like all our yachts, we place a huge emphasis on giving the owner a superb and comfortable sailing experience, on a yacht that is easy to handle.

You will experience the feeling of confidence and control with the X56. The helm position offers excellent visibility and agile handling that puts you in control.

The modern outboard mounted pedestals free up deck space, maintaining a clean and uncluttered cockpit to relax and entertain. The X56 has various pedestal options to select from.

X-YACHTS

FLEXIBLE SAILPLAN

It could be argued that the sail plan for any yacht is one of its most important features. For more than 40 years, X-Yachts has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about how to build fast sailing boats. This experience has been put to good use; X-Yachts’ racing pedigree can be seen as soon as you stand behind the wheel of the X56. This is a yacht designed and built by sailors for sailors.

DECK LAYOUT

The deck of the X56 has been designed to bring all the sailing control lines back behind the main seating area of the cockpit, keeping it safe and clear of ropes

4 powerful winches take care of all of the halyards and sheets and are set up so they can be controlled easily at the helm - or a separate trimmer. The deck has an integrated recessed self-tacker track for an 88% jib.

The X56 can also be specified with coach roof mounted longitudinal genoa tracks with sheets and car adjusters led below deck and back to the cockpit winches.

A rope bin is placed at the aft end of each cockpit bench. Here, sheets and halyards can be stored when not in use.

TRANSOM GARAGE

The X56 has a large transom door that also forms a bathing platform. The transom garage is large enough to store a 2.8 m inflatable tender.

The tender can be manoeuvred into the garage using an optional integrated crane, making launch and recovery a simple affair.

The X56 can also be fitted with an optional telescopic gangway to allow for easy boarding when moored stern to.

HELMSMAN’S SEATS

The X56 can be specified with optional teak and stainless steel helmsman’s seats, mounted behind each of the wheels.

INTEGRATED BOWSPRIT

The X56 has an integrated carbon bowsprit as standard, providing attachment point for asymmetric spinnakers with the stainless steel anchor arm fitted below.

The innovative stem design in the hull allows the code-0 and forestay furler to be positioned further forward, maximising J length and increasing upwind performance.

SPACIOUS SALOON

The well-proportioned saloon gives the yacht a spacious feel. Well-positioned handrails and good furniture placement ensure that it is always safe and easy to move around, no matter the sea conditions.

The central puff seat can be converted into a coffee table and repositioned as required –this offers flexibility.

HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS

The X56 is offered in a range of finishes: Nordic Oak veneer is standard on all furniture, or optional teak can be chosen.

All veneers are hand-selected in Italy by our specialists, from one of the most exclusive suppliers for the marine market for high quality yachts. As with all models in the range, there are a large number of options for soft furnishings.

CHART TABLE

All layouts feature a large dedicated forwardfacing chart table. The large chart table is perfect for navigation and offers good storage facilities. On the side of the chart table is a deep pocket, ideal for storing almanacs, binoculars etc.

The nav station is the yacht’s communication centre as well as the main hub for its electrical systems, with DC switch panel and electrical breakers easily accessible.

Above the chart table a set of lockers allow a variety of navigation electronics to be fitted.

SOLAR PANELS

The X56 can be fitted with optional solar panels which can be recessed into the coach roof teak, to provide a flush and fully integrated look.

Solar panels can help keep your batteries topped up and reduce generator hours when on long distance cruises.

LAYOUTS

The X56 has a number of layouts available, primarily revolving around the choice of galley.

The galley is available in four options, a traditional closed galley and a modern open galley. Both closed and open gallies can be extended aft, which replaces the port aft head and offers greater storage space in the port aft cabin.

SAIL PLAN

The fractional sail plan is easy controllable. The standing rigging is solid rod rigging and the permanent backstay adjuster is hydraulic. A carbon rig with a taller P (mainsail luff) is optional.

DEDICATED LONG DISTANCE CRUISING YACHTS WITH ENJOYABLE HANDLING UNDER SAIL.

The Xc range features X-Yachts’ newest model specifically oriented towards cruising: the Xc 47, launched in January 2024.

The Xc 47 marks the beginning of a completely new generation of XCruising. The concept is built on years of experience and a desire to accommodate the growing number of sailors looking for a true bluewater cruiser.

Incorporating feedback from a global fleet of over 300 Xc yachts, the Xc 47 includes numerous enhancements. Like our Pure X

and Xp ranges, it is constructed using epoxy infusion. The hulls are post-cured, enhancing the structural properties of the composite and reducing weight.

Xcruising embodies the evolving concept of dedicated long-distance cruising yachts, designed for enjoyable, shorthanded-friendly sailing and luxurious comfort below deck, built for true offshore sailing.

WHAT IS XCRUISING?

A SPACIOUS AND LUXURIOUS X-YACHTS CRUISER

PROBABLY THE BEST CRUISER WE HAVE EVER BUILT

Danish design and architecture are famous for its clean and timeless style, and X-Yachts has always been a part of this tradition. X-Yacht owners often talk about a special X feeling, something that greets you every time you step on board. We know this feeling, and for us it’s a constant process to refine and enhance it each time. Looking at the Xc 47, we are proud of how far we have come.

The hull lines have maintained the deep V-shaped bow sections, generous rocker, and higher stern overhang from previous Xc models, providing the well-known comfortable seagoing characteristics. Furthermore, the hull features modern, wider stern sections, incorporating a subtle soft chine that provides extra form stability and improved reaching performance. Also, this design provides a great feel of space in the aft cabins.

The hull is built in a full vacuum infused epoxy/e-glass sandwich, with our famous signature steel frame. Areas exposed to high loads are reinforced with carbon fibers, a part of making the yacht stronger and stiffer without adding excess weight or increased structural geometries in the interior.

SHORTHANDED WITH EASE AND STYLE

Most sailing today, even bluewater cruising, is performed with a small crew, with often just a couple of crew members, which the development team has kept in mind right from the outset of the design process. Some of the design features and functions have been seen before on other premium yachts, but on the Xc 47, they are executed with an unprecedented sense of style.

The cockpit layout has been designed to give the helmsman the capability of handling all lines. Four winches – two on each side, are positioned in front of the wheels. All relevant trim lines are led in channels under the deck from the mast to the steering position, with jammers reachable for the helmsman.

X-YACHTS

The traveller has been re-positioned from the cockpit to a position in front of the sprayhood. Apart from creating an efficient workspace, this cockpit arrangement leaves room for a comfortable living space, with the sail handling concentrated to the area at the helm station.

Near the transom, a large aft deck accommodates a comfortable full-width seating area behind the wheels, as well as a nice sunbathing area. As it should be on a true offshore yacht, the cockpit is deep, well protected, and with a closed transom.

FEATURES

Sail handling is controlled from the aft part of the cockpit. Haylards, reefing and control lines and sheets are led to the four standard self-tailing winches in front of the helming positions with the German mainsheet system operable from both sides.

Both the mainsheet and the genoa sheets are led through jammers, allowing you to easily free up a winch. The winches are arranged for optimal operation from the helming position when sailing shorthanded.

The low coaming aft of the wheels together with the foldable foot chocks ensure comfortable helming.

DINGHY & DAVITS

The transom door has an option of integrated davits with the new “easy launch” function.

They have a capacity of 150 kg per davit and 200 kg in total. When the dinghy is hanging in the davits, there is a free view over it from the helming position, and when the dinghy is launched the davits can either lay on the bathing platform or be stored in the deep “step down” locker.

LARGE TANK CAPACITY

The Xc 47 has a large tank capacity. You need to be able to carry sufficient supplies of water and diesel. The tanks are positioned midship and below waterline, to increase stability and reduce pitching. Multilevel floors make it possible to keep larger tanks and technical installations below the floorboards. The yacht is equipped with a strong engine, able to get you out of trouble and cover even long distances, when sailing is not a viable option.

INTERIOR

The first thing most people will notice when looking at the lines, is the shape of the superstructure. We have introduced an elegantly raised superstructure over the saloon area. This provides a better view of the surroundings when under deck. Also it provides more natural light and an opportunity for multilevel floors. This allows the vast majority of technical installations to stay amidship below the floorboards – which increases the usable storage areas throughout the interior.

The efficient storage volumes hidden behind the sturdy, yet elegantly crafted surfaces of the interior, enables the Xc 47 to carry provisions for long periods of time, with the crew enjoying the lifestyle of true blue water cruising.

UNVEILING THE NEXT CHAMPION WHERE PERFORMANCE MEETS INNOVATION

We are back in racing!

The XR 41 marks a serious return to the X-Yachts DNA and more than 45 years of racing history

Designing successful race winners under ORC and IRC is not new to X-Yachts. Take for example the Xp 44, X-41, IMX 38, IMX 40 and IMX 45, that were all dominating on the race course for years - and still are. Just like these legendary models, the XR design will also allow a certain degree of cruising inheritance for the sporty family.

Designed with input from leading design teams, crafted from the finest material, and produced using the most advanced technologies to offer an unmatched racing experience. Optimized for ORC, the XR 41 is built to turn every breeze into speed!

The visions and ambitions are clear: The XR shall be a winner, and therefore the X-Yachts in-house design team has proudly made partnership with some of racing world’s most experienced designers and racers, and together they design and build a race boat with winning potential for all major championships and regattas in ORC and potentially IRC.

SURGE PROJECTS

NORTH SAILS

ORC CATEGORY B

The strategy has been to focus specifically on ORC category B, and to position the boat in the fastest end of that fleet. It’s very important to get a free lane right off the start line, and to achieve that, you need to be one of the fastest boats upwind in the category.

THE STERN IS FAIRLY V-SHAPED

The XR 41 has a hull with shallow volume, not much rocker, volume quite evenly distributed longships and with quite a bit of overhang, especially at the bow.

The stern is fairly V-shaped, with the centerline barely touching the water surface. The hull is really wide for a 12-metre boat: The maximum beam is 4.18 meters.

The boat has a moderate draft of 2.4 m. which allows for racing in almost any waters.

NO ‘ONE DESIGN’ CLASS

Focus has been on the rating aspect in the XR project, including the tricky question of how to address and meet rule changes in the coming years.

RACE WINNING AND LASTING FOR DECADES

A raw racer normally has a short life and loses value after a few years. The XR 41 is designed to win races for many years and also to be used for sporty family sailing for decades. All X-Yachts is built to last decades.

The hull shape may not be changed, but the keel, sail plan, rigging, rudder, displacement and several other things can be adapted. This counts for not making the XR a one design race boat. When it comes to the hull itself, it is only logic to allow some slack to the limits. If measurements were right on the edge, we could easily find ourselves on the wrong side a year or two from now.

To accommodate this, the XR 41 has parts of the interior in modules, that can be removed for racing and installed for cruising – for example parts of the galley and the lockers in the aft and front cabins. Deck layout is obviously set up for racing with a full crew, but it’s also designed to work for shorthanded, and even singlehanded sailing.

RACE AND SPORT

The XR 41 will come in two versions: Race and sport. The racing version will have square top main and split backstay, while the sporty cruising version will come with a bit smaller sail area, pinhead main and single backstay. The keel can be delivered in a couple of different drafts, but 2.40m is the standard. For flying sails, the main focus is asymmetric – that’s what the boat is set up for, with a relatively long bow sprit.

TECHNICAL INSTALLATIONS

One of many features implemented as standard in the XR will be an electrical system based on digital switching from Garmin/Empirbus.

The digital system will include distributed I/O modules, switch panels below and above deck, improved flexibility, as well as easy upgrades.

The XR 41 will be the first X-Yachts with electric cooking as standard. A possibility due to the lithium battery bank fitted onboard. The yacht will as standard be equipped with a gimballed two burner induction cooktop that can be supplemented with a combined oven/airfryer. Using electric cooking will remove the hassle of finding matching gas cylinders when sailing on holiday from country to country – and it also saves weight and increases safety onboard.

Like other interior, the oven can be removed while racing. Saving around 100kg compared to a yacht built more traditionally.

XR 41 will have a large digital touch display from Victron, smart monitoring of battery bank and the possibility to monitor the boat systems from home. As an option, the XR 41 will be offered with a variety of hydraulic options enabling to trim mainsail and jib without easing sheets first. Load cells for forestay, backstay/runners and jib luff are also offered in combination with two attractive electronic packages tailor made for the XR 41.

EXPLORE

THE HIDDEN X-YACHTS QUALITIES

Our competitors claim we care too much about things yacht owners don’t see, and yes, we do care - and so do X-Yachts owners. We call it The X-Yachts Qualities.

Every sailing vessel has hidden features, and here are a few you don’t normally see. They are central features, making X-Yachts the premium brand it is. When your eyes fall upon an X-Yachts, you will probably feel good about what you see. Especially if the boat is yours. One of the most profound pleasures of owning a yacht, is looking at it and enjoying its beauty.

The same goes for the sailing performance: An X-Yacht moves faster, smoother and with less heeling than most other boats, and you don’t have to be an expert to experience it. And you don’t necessarily have to know much about how it was achieved. But it’s well known that we don’t build the cheapest boats on the market. And we would like to tell you, that a lot of the extra value is hidden in upgraded materials, advanced building techniques and special features, that are unique for an X-Yacht. So, if you’re curious – here’s a few of the elements that make our boats stand out the way they do.

enough, the boat will flex – especially when sailing upwind in waves. This can cause the forestay to lose tension momentarily every time the boat hits a wave.

This is called forestay pumping, and deforms the foresail in a critical moment, which affects performance negatively. An X-Yacht is a precisely engineered structure with enhanced hull stiffness. Forces from wind and water are absorbed by ocean proof, solidly dimensioned parts, all the way from the bottom of the keel to the top of the mast, and from the bow to the transom. This stiffness prevents forestay pumping, and ensures that even minor tuning adjustments of sails or rig are precisely translated to the change you aim for. Being able to adapt easily to changing conditions makes the boat perform well, and makes the boat a safer and more enjoyable place to be.

Every X-Yacht is delivered with rod rigging, and chainplates are integrated in a way that distributes and absorbs forces evenly through the hull. When an X-Yacht hits a wave, nothing gives in.

Mast has uncontrolled deflection due to lack of leward rig tension.

STEEL FRAME

The galvanized steel frame is probably our most famous signature feature. It has been a core principle in the construction of an X-Yacht since 1981. In some models, the steel frame has been replaced by a carbon fiber version, to save weight – but the function remains the same: To provide a safe and strong attachment between the keel and the hull. The steel frame makes it possible to use heavier keels, an important part of the inherent stability that X-Yachts are so famous for. The keel is bolted directly to the steel frame, and any force working on the keel – even sudden shocks from grounding or hitting debris in the water – will be absorbed and distributed evenly throughout the structure.

STABILITY/WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

(VERTICAL AND LONGITUDINAL)

X-Yachts has always prioritized high stability through providing a low center of gravity. The keel is heavy, and the weight distribution in the boat is centered way down, near the water line. But longitudinal weight distribution is also hugely important in a sailing yacht. Excessive weight in the stern and transom will cause pitching and slamming. This is not only uncomfortable, but also transmits massive loads through the boat and slows it down. And X-Yacht has tanks and other heavy items mounted as close to midships as possible. Moving mass close to the centre of gravity reduces inertia, and increases speed and comfort when going through waves.

X-YACHTS

VACUUM INFUSED EPOXY SANDWICH

Vacuum infusion is a building process where dry fibres are placed in the hull mould, and covered in an airtight plastic membrane. Vacuum is applied, and resin added through tubes into the laminate. This process makes it possible to control the amount and distribution of resin very precisely in all areas, and provides a uniform, strong hull with an approximate 15% weight reduction. We use Gurit Corecell M foam between the two layers of laminate, a sandwich material with excellent impact resistance, high strength and low resin uptake. This build process provides a very light, stiff and strong hull.

TRANSPARENT BOTTOM LAMINATE/GELCOAT QUALITY

The strength and integrity of a composite structure relies on a complete saturation of the fibres. Resin (polyester or epoxy) has to be distributed and immersed completely throughout the whole fibre laminate, without dry spots or air bubbles. To make it easier to detect potential flaws during production, X-Yachts applies clear gelcoat on the bottom section of every hull. We use high grade gelcoat and epoxy treatment to prevent water ingress.

CENTER LIFT

X-Yachts are designed to be lifted using a single lift point integrated in the steel frame. This means that you can avoid using straps at the crane, thereby eliminating the risk of damage to propellers and rudders. Also, there will be no scratching of topsides or removing freshly painted antifouling. The single lift point simply makes things easier when lifting or launching the boat – and it proves just how strong and well balanced the yacht really is.

ENCAPSULATED KEEL

X-Yachts’ cast iron and lead keels are encapsulated in a reinforced epoxy e-glass shell, to guarantee a hydrodynamic and fair finish. The shell also protects the keel from corrosion. We use female moulded shells to make sure every keel stays accurate and faithful to the designed, original profile.

LEAD KEEL BULBS

Lead keel bulbs have a smaller volume than iron bulbs of the same weight. The use of lead in our bulbs means a 30% reduction of volume. Less wetted surface means less resistance and more speed.

DESIGN, HULL LINES

A well designed hull is what defines a yacht that can sail fast and provide a comfortable base for the crew in all conditions and on all points of wind. Our design office has a more than 40 year long track record designing yachts that are known all over the world for their efficient lines and fast hulls. We have always taken pride in doing our design work in house, and continue to do so today.

COMPONENT MATERIAL QUALITY

The loads in an X-Yacht are considerable – even more so because of the large sail plan. We build a strong hull and keel structure, but the rigging components handling the loads also has to be top of the line – and dimensioned correctly. We only use the best suppliers: Andersen, Harken, Reckman, Ronstan and Spinlock provide reliable rig components that are easy to use and maintain, and correctly sized for the loads involved. Lower specification Items of less quality or strength would be cheaper, but would compromise the high safety and easy handling of an X-Yacht.

ERGONOMICS, COCKPIT, EASY HANDLING

Behind the natural, free flowing experience of easy sail handling in a cockpit lies an extensive attention to detail, when it comes to ergonomics and work positions. To create a cockpit that really works, both for an active crew during racing and for relaxed cruising with family or a group of friends, is no small task. X-Yachts are well known for easy handling, and our racing heritage means that we know where every little thing needs to sit to make things work as effortlessly as possible.
