FAMILY MEDICINE ACCELERATED TRACK (FMAT)

Innovative three-year program for students interested in primary care.

M.D. / M.B.A.

A 42-hour, four-year program focused on providing medical professionals with a strong business understanding of tomorrow’s health care system.

M.D. / Ph.D.

A seven-year program in which students complete a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program between the second and third years of medical school.

M.D. / M.P.H.

A 45-hour, four-year program that targets the following core disciplines: Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Policy Management, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and other public health disciplines..

J.D. / M.D.

A six-year program in which students complete a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) program between years 3 and 4 of medical school.

M.D. / M.S.

A ve-year program in which students complete a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biomedical Research at the end of year 2 of medical school.

M.D. & E

A four-year program focused on training physicians who are capable of blending medical knowledge and engineering principles. Students complete a Master of Science (M.S.) in Bioengineering while in medical school.

Prerequisites

Traditionally, evidence of high intellectual ability and a strong record of academic achievement help determine a student’s ability for success in medical school. In addition, successful candidates often have considerable involvement in health care related activities and other extra-curricular activities. e following qualities are deemed extremely important:

All prerequisites must be taken at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution. A bachelor’s degree is required, although no preference is given to the major. Applicants must take the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). e applicant’s best score from the last ve years will be considered.

Every year in October, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center releases the Annual Security Report in compliance with the federal law identi ed as the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act."

e report contains statistics about certain speci ed crimes and related incidents that have been reported to the Texas Tech Police Department and other campus security authorities for the previous three calendar years. e report also contains policies and practices pertaining to campus security, crime reporting, alcohol and drugs, victims' assistance programs, student discipline policies, campus resources, community safety alerts, crime prevention, access to campus facilities and properties as well as personal safety tips.
