From the Principal Brighton still has many events with only a couple of weeks left in the school year. Year 10 students are looking forward to Australian Business Week; the volleyballers are off to the annual Melbourne competition and the Year 8 and 9 panels are in train. I was delighted to receive an email from the Rotary Club of Victor Harbor congratulating our polite Year 12 students during Schoolies week. They were described as a credit to their school.

So many staff go above and beyond to provide opportunities for the students, such as the Shakespeare Festival; the Sports Presentation evening; the Charities and Recognition Assembly; the National Flip Con conference; the Think Bright celebration of the first class to complete the three years and the Year 7 visits, to name but a few this term. The students will attend half-days in Week 9 to provide some extra time for the teachers to prepare for 2017. During this week, the Leaders attend the annual full-day planning conference to set the school’s priorities for next year.

We are sad to farewell staff who are retiring and wish them well after so many decades of service to young people. These staff will be celebrated at a special retirement function on Thursday 15th December after school. You may like to send them an email if they have impacted your child’s education. I know they would appreciate it.
