Kayla Womack – Raising Money To Walk In The Susan G. Komen 3-Day, 60-Mile Walk
Kayla Womack, an alumnus of Dalton State College, Dalton, Georgia and Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia, is an experienced accounting professional who dedicatedly contributes to the Susan G. Komen. It is an organization that raises funds by organizing a 3 Day event. The funds generated through the event are used to carry out research on Breast Cancer, to find an effective treatment or cure for the deadly disease, and to help local community, affiliate support and outreach programs.
What is Susan G. Komen 3-Day? Susan G. Komen.3-Day is a wonderful event where participants walk 60 miles in three days, approximately 20 miles each day. The organization facilitates the participants with the requisite training which can be accessed through caring coaches and online tools. Basically, it is a community of people who walk to cover the aforementioned distance in the given time period to raise funds.
Each person is supposed to raise at least $2,300 to become eligible for participating and the organization provides complete assistance at every step to achieve this target. Useful tips and tools are offered to the participants that help them raise this amount. The funds raised are used for community education, outreach programs, and more.
How Kayla Womack Contributes To Susan G. Komen? Kayla Womack participates in the 3-Day event every year and actively contributes in the fight to end breast cancer by raising considerable amount of funds. She is a member of a group named The Boobie Bunch which is comprised of 4 members including Kayla. Formed in 2008, the group has been raising money to walk in the Susan G. Komen 3-day, 60-mile walk.
Till date, the members of the group have raised over $50K. Individually, Kayla Womack has raised a considerable amount over $10K for the movement. She participates in the event every year, and this is the 5th year she will be walking for the noble cause. The Boobie Bunch will walk in Washington D.C. on 11th October, 2013. They intend to walk till a CURE is found.
