•Vehicular circulation is strategized by the four point access as per the original plans generated . Two structured access roads with 2 way carriageway within a ROW of 30 meters shall facilitate the overall vehicular traffic for the proposed Taxi Village development.

•Vehicular Traffic flow management shall ensure minimal left –right turns and right left turns . This will be managed by directional signs that will guide taxi drivers and visitors to use the appropriate entry point ( 4 points ) to navigate efficiently into the village and out of the village and also to access and exit the respective Franchisee plots.

•Road Shoulders along the main internal structured roads within the 30 meter wide ROW that will provide seamless pedestrian flow from various components.

The proposed landscape of outdoor space is a design to promote the activities of Urban Environments.

Shaded walkway and other measures to introduce a more comfortable outdoor environment.

Public open spaces are to be 60% shaded covered with primary and secondary walkways with 75% shaded coverage.

The proposed high intent green areas shall be limited to central common area of dining hall, mosque and recreational ground.

To all the other areas, the concept of Xeriscaping shall be applied with creative innovation of hardscape material to reduce irrigation and pollution on site.

Pedestrian Hierarchy and its Effect to Users To promote active urban environment, the link path from accommodation doors to any public amenities shall not be design greater than 350 meter distance. The link ways shall be design with thermal comfort to its user.

FUNCTIONAL SHADE:

The proposed landscape shall address to provide natural shade within the defined pedestrian path, defined tree structure planting to identify the plot limit and to promote the local recreational activities and amenities.

•To promote common public interaction spaces of open parks, designated seating benches and table with good thermal comfort shall be designed as the accommodation of interior spaces are limited to its function as basic rest area.

50% of the selected plants shall be of native, adaptive drought and saline tolerant species, including a minimum of 5 different types of species.

• Less ground covers and shrubs to be used to reduce water consumption and operational cost. Beneficial ground cover and plants species will only be used at a strategic location to promote environment psychology enhancement and improvement of driver to promote a healthy and productive drivers.

• Shrubs, trees or physical structures should be used on the windward sides of the development in order to prevent soil erosion. This also acts as a buffer for dust, which is an important consideration for the development, given its location .

Plant species with similar water consumption and soil requirements should be grouped together in order to benefit from efficiencies in irrigation and maintenance

The site area is 32 acres for the design requirements with natural perimeters and peripheral of rivers and sea around it .Edayar lies near Thiruvallam, Kerala, India, about 7km from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station, on the way to the International Beach Resort of Kovalam.

And also keeping in mind the Christian population density efficient areas, the places that fulfill all the above demands.

Should be accessible and as well as not too expensive as it is on a non profitable basis The island is spread over 2 sq.km in length and half-a-km in width.

•AERIAL VIEW OF THE CHURCH:

A double walled building with an outer surface of intersecting circles of brick jalis.

•The sloped roofs are Kerala architecture “PAKODA” • Internal shell fulfilled the style.

•Air vents/ stained glass between the circular roofs constraints and controls for the divine lighting illumination when sunlight falls necessary for a computer laboratory. on them.

•The site has a crescent shaped water which is located at the corner but starts from the centre from which the design evolves.

If the spot is scarce in vegetation then I'm planning to have my function/ requirements there.

My concept is to maintain the eco-system of the site. For e.g. if the spot is well grown with vegetation, I would utilize that space as courtyard landscape, connecting spaces.

MUZIRIS HERITAGE PROJECT RESTORATION OF CHERAMAN JUMA MASJID.

The 1,400-year-old Cheraman Juma Masjid in Kerala, South India, considered to be India's oldest mosque, is undergoing renovations at an estimated cost of 2.5 million USD approximately.

The mosque was expanded many times to accommodate the increasing number of believers. Now the expansion will continue, with some prayer halls constructed underground, to preserve the integrity of the historical structure.

"The Cheraman Juma Masjid is a cultural monument and it should be preserved it in its original form," said the mosque president Mr. Mohammed Sayed. The mosque is believed to have been first constructed in 629 AD by Malik Bin Dinar.

The mosque was first renovated in the 11th Century AD, and later in 1974, Mr. Sayed said. "An extension was added after demolishing the front portion of the old mosque during renovation.

The carbon foot print of the building has been brought down by minimal usage of concrete. Louvers is a major element used widely in the design. They help in both lighting and ventilation making artificial ventilation unnecessary.

Paliam Nalukettu is a traditional Kerala style of self contained buildings.

•

It was built during 18th century by the elder member of the Paliam family who were the Prime Ministers of Cochin Kings.

•

The whole or the middle portions of the eastern and southern blocks known as the "kizhakkini and tekkini" are open to halls where the guests are received.

•

The meaning of Nalukettu is a typical self-contained Malayali house, consists of four blocks which form a quadrangle, and a rectangular courtyard in the centre known as the "nadumittam".

•

This classical structure has a courtyard at the centre with rooms surrounding it and Purathalam, where the members of paliam gather to chat and also for other recreational activities.

PALIAM NALLUKETTU

The entire structure is supported on steel sections. Though steel is high in energy consumption during production, it has the advantage of being reversible and re-usable.

Timber being a sustainable building material is widely used for the different elements of the building.

The proposal aims at developing the structures to solve the programmatic requirements, satisfying the needs of research as well as leisure.

The skin of the building integrates intriguingly the immediate landscape. Traditional roofing pattern is followed as it is the best suited for the local climate.

Large overhangs are provided to cut down direct sunlight.
