01 Orchids Orchids symbolize love and strength.

A 4 BHK, located near Venugopal temple, Manipal, Udupi, Karnataka. The client needed a fusion of both, traditional and modern styles of architecture.

Certain elements specified by the client were, bay windows, courtyard/atrium, open kitchen, wooden furniture, Mangalore tiles, and allowing the maximum amount of light in the interiors.

02 Prasvas Apartments Your comfort.

This design is a Mixed-used housing development project in Karavali, AdiUdupi, Karnataka along NH66 road that provides various types and occupancy in housing with diverse facilities ranging from gyms, to badminton courts, playgrounds, swimming pool, pharmacy, atm. etc. The focus is on providing the comfort of living to the residents and the users.

Parking provide here for the Commercial users near the entrance, to avoid unwanted traffic/movement within the site.

Residential spaces on the West sidemax wind velocity, private zone of the site. with basement parking.

Commercial spaces located in the SouthWest next to the boundary wall, as it is a public space (near the main road and the scrapyard shop) Recreational spaces next to the residential as well as near to the commercial spaces for ease of access.

03 Re-designing MIT Cafeteria Redesign the interiors of MIT CAFETERIA, considering the pandemic. A gathering and interactive space for students and faculty (users). To relax and refresh their minds.

To design a college cafeteria that is functional and aesthetically pleasing to the users, which helps them relax and find comfort in their busy schedules.

Green is and always has been the color to be associated with nature, and it creates a relaxed atmosphere in the cafeteria.

White and Beige have been proved to evoke a relaxed feel among users, making them want to stay more as they feel welcomed.

Patterns used

Integrating nature within the interior spaces

Beige is relaxing and royal and would be perfect for use with a bit of white or green that breaks the effect of beige.

04 Urban Context design The aim of the project is to bring in interventions for the integration of urban uses - affordable housing, recreation through multi-purpose open spaces, social and cultural activities, environment, and street/road infrastructure in a sustainable and holistic manner. The project will serve as an initiator for bringing a positive reform in Dharavi, from within.

Shop frontage and roads- no separation, no curbs.

The width of the road gradually decreases from 1.1 m to 1.4m, that is connecting the industrial, residential, and commercial zones of the site.

The industrial zone is a few meters away from the residential block- which is not desirable.

Lack of Parking facility for 2-wheelers.

No green infrastructure present Shared streets are often the default condition in historic cities with narrow rights-of-way. Narrow travel lanes are shared between cars and motorcycles. Due to the limited space, these streets have narrow and inaccessible sidewalks.

In some places, sidewalks are occupied by street vendors and informal parking, forcing pedestrians onto the roadbed.

4-wheelers aren’t allowed inside, but it is observed that cars were parked on this street.

Reshaping sidewalks: Chennai, India Sites that previously had narrow footpaths, high curbs, and were blocked by obstacles have been redesigned and reconstructed to provide a safe place for pedestrians to walk out of the roadbed.

This is a school zone improvement that is in South Korea. Creates safer routes from homes to schools through traffic-calming measures.

Improvements include removing street parking, building new sidewalks, installing signs and speed bumps, painting pavement, and installing fences to prevent vehicles from parking on sidewalks.

IMPACT from existing : • Required amount of lighting is provided, which helps the workers in this area to go to their homes during the night.

• Separation between ground and store/shop frontages.

• Footpath is at a height of 150mm above ground level.

• Parking for 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers is provided, due to the high-density presence of the commercial zone (textile and leather shops are more in this area) • Covered dustbin provided • This street accommodates, industrial, residential, and commercial zones. Therefore, the amount of people coming in and out is high compared to other streets.

• There was a lack of vegetation in the exiting, which is considered in this proposal.

• Curb is provided of width 0.7m height to differentiate between the road and the footpath.

• Benches made of stone provided.

• Signage boards (no stopping, width of road)are provided.

Street activities in the Agraharams were introvert settlements, however, within the introvert settlement there were designed built and open spaces that well catered to the needs of the settlers.
