Introduction:
Senta Serif is the first Serif Typeface font I designed.
During my first semester at UniBz, I attended the foundation course in Communication Design. This course was the first time I became involved with communication design, typography and type design. In the four-week teaching module of Type Design, I created a Sans Serif and a Serif Typeface.
Font Characteristics:
The typeface structure is inspired by the clean curves of Helvetica. For horizontal emphasis and letter balance there is a slight inclination towards the direction of reading.
Software used:
The digital version of the font was designed with Adobe Illustrator and the Astute Graphics plugins InkScribe, VectorScribe and VectorFirstAid. With the Adobe Illustrator plugin FontSelf, I did the kerning and generated the Open Type font file (OTF). To present my fonts appropriately, I finally created a Typeface Specimen for both fonts with Adobe InDesign.
