Welcome back to The Catford Weekender – a celebration of local talent and creativity in the heart of Catford, this year we are part of The BIG Catford Weekender which extends beyond our festival site to the town centre and beyond. We hope that over the weekend you will find something for the whole family to enjoy. Our outdoor stage will play host to local bands, singers, rappers and spoken word artists while the Big Top will showcase the best in local Jazz,

community choirs and the chance to party at our silent disco. We also have circus skill workshops, African drumming workshops, author talks, an outdoor cinema and much more! Come along an enjoy an afternoon or evening at the Festival Site with food trucks, licenced bar, inflatables, and street entertainers on hand to keep you entertained. Join us as we celebrate the very best of SE6 and beyond.

Come and hear from Alex Grant, author of Sex, Spies and Scandal: The John Vassall Affair. Hear about blackmail, espionage and the honey trap that almost brought down Harold Macmillan’s government.

Open Air Cinema - Footloose

Take a trip back to the 80’s and join Kevin Bacon as Ren, setting the local residents of Bomont, Utah free to dance to an awesome soundtrack which includes the hits ‘Let’s hear it for the boy’, ‘Holding out for a hero’, ‘Dancing in the streets’ and of course the title track ‘Footloose’.

The Community Sings

Seven community choirs are joining together to showcase a range of musical styles, tastes and the joy of singing together. An evening full of varied music from local choirs large and small.

Young people come and join Zamble African Dance Company for a workshop exploring the rhythms of West African dance and culture. Learn some dance and drum patterns together with the experts.

Kids Community five-a-side

Local youth league teams battle is out against each other to see who will be crowned the community football champs! .

SENiors Bingo
