MAJOR OFFICIALS NEWSLETTER

EDITION TWO | 26.02.25

Dear all,

Welcome to the second edition of the Major Officials Newsletter. We have decided that the Newsletter will be sent out every Week A Wednesday, with the aim of keeping all students and staff up to date with what the Major Official Team is working on and achieving on a regular basis. Since our previous Newsletter we have had our first Whole School Meeting in morning talk, where we discussed the introduction of Digital Learning, creating a Social Space Committee to help to fix the issues surrounding social spaces, and a new method of gathering motions by the Major Official Team going around companies more often to hear your ideas. We also raised £170 for the British Heart Foundation from Stupid Cupid in the final week of the half term, which was lots of fun!

So, to progress with the motions passed in the School Council Meeting some of the Major Officials will be going around Companies this Thursday to gather your new ideas and inform you on the Social Space meeting, which will occur next Thursday (6th march), where we will discuss how to improve and fix the social space issues. More information about this meeting will be informed to you next week.

Freemans business in our whole school meeting provided some great ideas which we are keen to implement into the school. Regarding the idea of providing some OPPS that have been influenced by student voice, we would like to take this further and hopefully get a system in place for the next round of OPPS.

The idea of changing morning talk times to make it so there is still a 30 minute break time on Mondays and Fridays was passed on to Nat where the daily schedules and timings are being reviewed.

Our Chair of EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion), Sorcha Lucioli would like to know what cultural events and celebrations you would like to include at our school. We are also interested in Student Voice suggestions for tackling inappropriate language in our community. A form will be sent around on Thursday company time, so please discuss your ideas and your advisor will write up your suggestions into this form.

As a reminder, if you would like to be involved in our ‘Bee Green’ Committee, please email majorofficials@stchris.co.uk so we know who and how many are interested, the poster is on the following page.

The Tuck Shop is reopening this half term over the following weeks and will be run by our Chairs of the Food Committee, Art Quelch and Daniel Dew.

For everyone involved in the Recycled Fashion Show, we are running a Bake Sale, raffle, and charity stool in the interval of the show this Saturday.

Finally, if anyone has any ideas or motions please don’t hesitate to email majorofficials@stchris.co.uk or speak to any of the Major Officials in person and we will discuss them further.

Thank you for reading,

The Major Official Team
