TEACHING, LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY • Implementation of the Head Start program designed to support students to transition into 2020 curriculum. This is particularly important for students commencing new VCE subjects. • Introduction to a new Academic Model in the Senior School that prioritises time in core subjects: Mathematics, English, Humanities, Languages and Science. • Utilisation of the Track One Learning Analytics Data Software has been used to ensure a rigorous analysis of end of semester student data. • Academic Assessment Services (AAS) testing was conducted for all Year 6 and Year 8 students. This data assists in benchmarking our own assessments against these standardised diagnostic assessments. • Formalised a partnership with University of Queensland (UQ). The ‘Teaching for Thinking’ project, led by Ms Kristy Forrest, the School’s Pedagogical Coach, will commence in 2020 with ongoing collaboration between UQ and St Catherine’s teaching staff.

• The ICT Team has implemented key security assessment recommendations to reduce future risk of cyber threats and crimes including multi-factor authentication, Mimecast email security protection system was implemented and will increase the capabilities of the School’s Emergency Wireless Communications System. • This year has provided opportunity for students to listen to presentations by the most inspiring women, each have empowered our girls with the belief that anything is possible for their future: • Her Excellency, The Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria • World renowned Conservationist and Primatologist, Dr Jane Goodall • The Honourable Julie Bishop, Former Foreign Minister and the first ever Female Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party • The Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Sally Capp • Olympic gold medallist and basketballer Jenni Screen

• The mystcatherines community portal was utilised by teachers in the Senior School to report on real-time academic feedback and the rolling display of a current grade average for each subject and is now established as the key communication and reporting tool for the community.

• Former aerial skier World Champion Jacqui Cooper

• The final stage of the Interactive Digital Panel AV project was completed with the final installations to five classroom spaces. The School now supports AV resources across all Senior School and Barbreck teaching spaces, including Barbreck, replacing traditional whiteboards with these wireless touch enabled digital panels. The technology is an outstanding resource and has become the major teaching tool in a classroom.
