SCHOOL
Saturday 4 October 2025

Dear Prospective Junior School Parents,
Welcome to St Benedict’s Junior School and Nursery.
Our Open Morning is an opportunity for you to experience the warmth and energy of our community. You are invited to explore our classrooms and specialist spaces, meet our teachers, and speak with some of our pupils. As you walk around the school, I encourage you to visit our dedicated areas for Art, Design & Technology (ADT), Computing, Games & Physical Education, ICT, Music, and Science.
Two presentations will take place in the Junior School Hall, where you are welcome to ask questions and learn more about our approach to learning, pastoral care, and the values that shape daily life at St Benedict’s.
Thank you for joining us today. I hope this visit gives you a sense of what makes our school distinctive and that you will come back to see us again soon.
With best wishes,

Rob Simmons Junior School Headmaster

A warm welcome to St Benedict’s.
Thank you for visiting us today, we are delighted that you are considering joining the St Benedict’s community.
Here at St Benedict’s, we have always been much more than a place of learning; we pride ourselves on our holistic approach to education through inspirational teaching, tutorial guidance and exceptional pastoral care which all lie at the heart of what we offer.

Our students are valued as individuals and therefore think as individuals; they discover their unique talents and interests and develop personal qualities such as resilience, resourcefulness, empathy and imagination.
The school motto, a minimis incipe – ‘from the smallest beginnings’ – reminds us that everyone has enormous potential, and that great things begin with small steps. We are a school where all can find and develop their talents to the full and we are immensely proud that we can recognise this through our extensive scholarship and bursary programmes.
As you take your tour, you will witness the school brought to life through some of our wonderful facilities and the range of co-curricular activities we cater for. Take this opportunity to experience the passion displayed by our students and teachers as you visit the different areas of the school. From the buzz of musical performances and drama rehearsals to the latest experiments in our science labs, and the hugely creative art and design displays, as well as the variety of sports and dance activities in our sports hall and sports fields, where we strongly encourage visitor participation throughout.
We hope you agree that St Benedict’s provides the perfect platform to help equip the next generation to excel in the 21st Century.
A huge decision lies ahead of you in selecting the right secondary school for your child and we look forward to welcoming you to the St Benedict’s community.
With warmest regards,

Joe Smith Headmaster
