Head Coach Nicole Collier

Lady Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Nicole Collier is in her first season as the head coach of the Lady Roadrunners. Collier brings 20 years of experience at the Division I, Division II, and junior college levels as a student-athlete, assistant coach, and head coach to her position. Collier comes to Sedalia after serving five years as an assistant coach at Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, where she was involved in all aspects of the program from recruiting, scouting of opponents, game planning, scheduling, strength and conditioning, and academics. Collier coached numerous studentathletes who earned Missouri Valley Conference postseason recognition. During her time at Southern Illinois, the women’s basketball student-athletes did the job on the court, as well as in the classroom, finishing 11th in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top-25 Honor Roll during the 2018-2019 season, which was the highest finish in program history. During the 2017-2018 season, Southern Illinois put together the programs fourth straight winning season and earned the number four seed in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament advancing to the semifinal round. Southern Illinois also continued to succeed in the classroom posting a 3.34 grade point average. In the 2016-2017 season, Collier helped her team to a 16-15 record and a post season appearance for the second straight season. Southern Illinois also earned inclusion in the WBCA’s Top25 Honor Roll at number 22 with a 3.51 grade point average. Collier served as the head coach for four years at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Collier helped her team to two Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament appearances and led her team to a pair of double-digit win totals. Seven of her student-athletes earned All-MIAA honors and 19 of her student-athletes earned MIAA Academic Honor Roll recognition. Collier also served as an assistant coach at Lincoln prior to her time as the head coach. Lincoln earned 12 or more wins in a season twice, including 15 during the 2012-2013 season, which was the second most in a single season in program history. Prior to her arrival at Lincoln, Collier served as an assistant coach at Central Missouri from 2004 to 2009. She helped lead her team to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances and five straight 14 or more-win seasons. The Jennies made the conference tournament each season. (cont’d on next page)

(cont’d from page 31) Collier began her career as a student-athlete at fellow Region 16 member Jefferson College, where she was a two-time All-American and the first female student-athlete to be inducted into the Jefferson College Hall of Fame. Collier transferred to Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, where she led her team to an MIAA title in 2002 and earned both allconference and all-region honors. She was later inducted into the Missouri Western State University Hall of Fame. Collier has an Associate Degree from Jefferson College, an undergraduate degree in Physical Education from Missouri Western State University, and a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Sport Administration from the University of Central Missouri. Jones served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Lift For Life Academy in St. Louis from June 2015 to February 2018. Jones also served as the strength and conditioning coach. Jones improved the performance of each student-athlete by implementing strict weight training and conditioning regimen. Jones conducted practices and instructed student-athletes in game strategies and techniques. Jones also assisted with various off the court tasks including equipment inventory and public relations. Jones spent two years in the Blue Chip Basketball League, playing the 2014-2015 season for the Midwest Flyers. She spent the 2016-2017 season as a trainer for the team. Jones had a standout two-year career at State Fair where she was named First-Team All-Region 16 as a sophomore in 2009. After graduating with an associate degree in Physical Education, Jones transferred to Missouri Southern State University a Division II University in Joplin, where she lettered for two years and earned a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion/ Wellness. Jones currently resides in Sedalia.

Assistant Coach Latice Jones

LaTice Jones is in her second season as the part-time assistant women’s basketball coach at State Fair Community College. Jones brings experience as a studentathlete and high school and college coach to the position at SFCC. The Gary, Indiana native came back to SFCC after owning and operating LMJ Basketball Training, where Jones served as the skill development coach from June 2019 to the present. Jones taught the fundamentals of basketball, while developing and mentoring athletes. Jones also served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Louisiana State University Eunice, an NJCAA institution in Eunice, Louisiana from August 2018 to May 2019. Jones was responsible for assisting with recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes both in-state and out-of-state, as well as player development and scouting. Jones also assisted with strength and conditioning and monitored academic progress to ensure degree completion and graduation.
