Three canals that run east-west through the colonia and one that runs northsouth along the eastern border are the only engineered drainage infrastructure in the colonia. A deferral drain is currently under construction along the southern boundary of the colonia. Maps of the area show that Green Valley Farms, with an elevation about five feet lower than the surrounding rural area, is surrounded by a number of drainage and supply canals as well as resacas and reservoirs.
