New drama classes at Ramiro Barrera Middle School
Spotlight on the Titans! Ramiro Barrera Middle School is excited to introduce new drama classes for their students! Drama education plays a vital role in student success by encouraging creativity, boosting selfesteem, and teaching collaboration. These classes give Titans the opportunity to explore the performing arts while gaining lifelong skills that go far beyond the stage. Ramiro Barrera Middle School look forward to seeing the students shine in this exciting new program!

Sarahi HerreraGonzalez, MD Gastroenterology
La Dra. Sarahi Herrera González es la única gastroenteróloga en el Instituto de Gastroenterología de DHR Health. Se especializa en diagnosticar y tratar enfermedades del sistema digestivo, incluyendo el estómago, los intestinos, el hígado y la vesícula biliar. Con frecuencia, los pacientes acuden a ella por problemas digestivos persistentes como dolor abdominal, cambios en los hábitos intestinales u otros síntomas sin explicación.
Originaria de Chihuahua, México, la Dra. Herrera obtuvo su título de médico en la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua. Realizó su residencia en Medicina Interna en Jersey City Medical Center–RWJBarnabas en Nueva Jersey, y posteriormente cursó una subespecialidad en gastroenterología en Saint Michael’s Medical Center, también en Nueva Jersey.
En base a su fluides en los idiomas inglés y español, la Dra. Herrera se dedica a atender a adultos de todas las edades y a ayudar a los pacientes del Condado de Starr y del Valle del Río Grande a mejorar su salud digestiva y bienestar en general.

Roque Guerra Jr. Elementary newly elected 2025–2026 Student Council officers
The Roque Guerra Jr. Elementary students took part in the 2025–2026 Student Council Elections! Over the past two weeks, the Coltastic representatives campaigned and shared their speeches in hopes of earning a leadership role.
Fifth graders had the chance to run for President and Vice President, fourth graders for Secretary, and third graders for Reporter. Students in grades 3–5 cast their votes, experiencing the democratic process firsthand and learning that every voice matters.
Roque Guerra Jr. Elementary is so proud of all the candidates for their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations to the newly elected officers: President – Leilany Cruz, Vice President – Kayla Ortiz, Secretary – Layla Zárate, and Reporter – Alex Garcia.
