City of Rio Grande City Swears in New Elected Mayor and Commissioners The City of Rio Grande City held a special meeting on Monday, June 3, to accept the final canvassing totals and perform the swearingin ceremony for its newly elected officials. The event marked the formal induction of Mayor Gilberto Falcon, Commissioner Ediel Barrera, and Commissioner Eudolio Barrera into their respective offices. The ceremony was conducted by Judge Jose Luis Garza of the 381st District Court, who administered the oaths of office to the newly elected officials.
