General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary FIRST Annual Country Festival

General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary will be hosting their FIRST Annual Country Festival on February 15th, 2023.

Rio Grande City Grulla ISD are excited to announce General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary’s First Annual Country Festival!

Join the Eagles for a fun filled evening where they will be showcasing the students’ numerous talents. This event will be open to the community. Any student interested in participating in the Art Contest or Kiddie Cook Off will need to sign up using the QR code provided. Registration will be at a first come first served basis. PUBLIC NOTICE

The County of Starr plans to apply for the upcoming (2023-2024 Texas Community Development Fund) from the Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) Program of the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Accordingly, the County of Starr is seeking to contract with a qualified Engineering/Architectural/Surveying Firm (individual/firm) to prepare all preliminary and final design plans and specifications, and to conduct all necessary interim and final inspections. These services are being solicited to assist the County of Starr in its application preparation and project implementation of a TxCDBG contract, if awarded, to support the following Street Improvement in County of Starr.

Two-Year Plan Modifications of 2021-2024 Plans

Workforce Solutions (WFS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, overseeing workforce development programs and services in Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties. WFS receives Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)/Choices, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Child Care Development funds and other program funds. These federal funds pass through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to WFS.

WIOA requires that at the end of the first two-year period of the four-year local Board plan, Boards and their appropriate chief elected officials (CEOs) review plan, develop, and submit modifications to reflect labor market changes, economic conditions, and other factors affecting plan implementation. These factors may include, but are not limited to, changes to the financing available to support WIOA Title I and partner-provided services or revise strategies based on a need to meet local performance goals. WFS reviewed the Board Plan for 20212024 Program Year (PY) and made appropriate modifications.

The 2022 WFS Board Plan Modification Plan for ’21-’24 for WFS serving Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties will be available for review and comment from January 25, 2023- February 23, 2023. The Board Plan will be posted at www. wfsolutions.org and be available at the WFS Corporate Office located at 3101 W. Business 83, McAllen, TX 78501.
