Roma High Class of 2020 Alum Carlos Garza Selected Ac2E to Perform in the National Intercollegiate Band

Congratulations to Roma High Class of 2020 Alum Carlos Garza on being selected to perform in the National Intercollegiate Band as a principal percussionist!

Carlos is currently a senior at Lamar University where he is

majoring in music education. A member of the Mighty Gladiator Band Program for seven years, he is making the program proud with his many accomplishments.

In addition to competing in many national musical competitions, he is proud to have been a part of the Great Plains International Marimba Competition, where he and his duet partner competed against many duet groups from across the U.S. Gladiator nation is super proud of Carlos!

Medina EC Accepting Operation Round Up Applications Medina Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up (ORU) program is currently accepting applications from individuals, families, and organizations in need.

ORU is known for helping families with medical bills, assisting after home fires, funding therapies for kids and more. The application deadline is Friday, August 4.

Applications can be completed online or printed and delivered to

Medina EC offices prior to or on August 4. For more information on ORU and where to apply, visit MedinaEC.org/ORU or call 1-866632-3532.

Donations for the ORU program come from Medina EC members who have agreed to voluntarily round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar, employees who give through payroll deduction and other onetime donations. One-time donations

from members or non-members can be made to the ORU program by mailing a check to Medina Electric Cooperative, ATTN: ORU Fund, PO Box 370, Hondo, TX 78861 payable to Operation Round Up. The next ORU application deadlines are August 4 and November 3, 2023 as the final application for 2023. Application dates for 2024 will be announced in January.
