In 1972, I opened my first furniture showroom. I was determined to offer top quality fitted bedrooms, bedroom furniture and beds at good value prices and to give my customers the highest possible service. This wasn’t always easy as suppliers often didn’t share my commitment to quality and delivering promptly with keen prices. I realised I could do better and in 1978 after three years of planning, the first Starplan factory, employing just 10 staff, was opened. We were at last able to guarantee fitted bedrooms with the quality, delivery and prices in line with my original vision.
