Police promise Gembrook MP and Shadow Minister for Police Brad Battin has vowed an elected Liberal government at 2022’s state election would establish a police station in Clyde North. A state-of-the-art, 24-hour police station
by 2022 in Clyde North was promised as part of the Labor Government’s 2018 election campaign, with $34 million allocated for the construction, however, work is yet to begin. Minister Battin said the lack of action was a reflection on the government’s commitment to improving safety for Victorians.
“They (Clyde North residents) were absolutely hoodwinked at the last election that this government cared about law and safety, and now we’ve seen how much they actually care,” Minster Battin said. “They haven’t actually bought one block of land yet.”
“I will guarantee you, if we’re in government in the next term, that police station will be up and running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and I would make sure there’s money in the first budget to ensure the promise is delivered.” Continued page 3
