Community News Equipment and Training Grants to open soon! Casey based community groups and organisations are invited to apply for the 2018-19 Equipment and Training grants program. The grants program, which provides financial assistance towards equipment purchases and training opportunities for volunteer and group members, will open on Monday 3 September 2018.

Potential applicants are encouraged to attend the information session next month to learn how to submit an A grade application. Join in the next Inn Crowd catch up Join in the first Lunch and Learn as part of the Casey Cardinia Region’s new initiative, the INNovation Crowd! The Lunch and Learn series will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs and like-minded business people to come together to discuss ideas and network while hearing from a range of guest speakers and colleagues. The INNovation Crowd is a program for startups and budding business owners from the Casey Cardinia region. Head along to Pioneers Park on Saturday 1 September to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Shire of Berwick.
Come along and join in the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary since the Shire of Berwick was formed! The Berwick District Road Board was proclaimed the Shire of Berwick in 1868 – 150 years ago this year.
Everyone is invited to join in the festivities, which will include a throwback to the 19th century with historical games from that era.
The City of Casey will host a FREE community event at Pioneers Park, Berwick on Saturday 1 September from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm to celebrate the occasion.
There will also be a barbecue, carnival rides, face painting, performances, historic displays and wood-chopping demonstrations.

Recycle responsibly in Casey
The National disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be rolled out in the City of Casey from 1 September 2018.
Touch up on your waste and recycling knowledge at the City of Casey’s Waste and Recycling Information Session at the end of this month.
Through the NDIS, eligible people receive funding from the Government to choose their own service provider to cater to their needs and requirements.
Council wants its residents to join in the fight to reduce waste, while also increasing recycling awareness.
Council has not registered to be a service provider however it will participate in a significant transition process with clients currently receiving its services.
