That’s a Lotto luck! It really is the luck of the draw when it comes to winning TattsLotto, but within the last 10 months that luck has been lapped up by a some Wodonga residents whose “dreams have come true” through winning tickets. In the Saturday 28 January regular 12 game entry, a local Wodonga woman won over half a million dollars putting her in to the first division club. She was among eight other division-one winners that won $509,614 and one Super 66 entry that won a division one prize of $16,666 across the country. The woman, who has been a regular customer at Wodonga Plaza Cards and TattsLotto for over 30 years, claimed her prize money on Monday after coming in to check her ticket while unaware of her considerable win. Wodonga Plaza Cards and TattsLotto co-owner Tony Thorpe said the recent win came as “fantastic news” to the store which is becoming known as a “pretty lucky shop”. He said that the woman was in a bit of “shock” when she found out and that she did not have a particular plan for what she would use the money for. “When she came in she had no idea and she was in a little shock when she learned
of her win,” Mr Thorpe told News Weekly. “We sat her down in the office and told her what she had won and she was very excited and surprised at the news. “At this stage, she is just going to enjoy the win and discuss it all with family and then go from there.” Last year’s first division win, which totalled $1.1 million, was won by four friends who also purchased their ticket at Wodonga Plaza Cards and TattsLotto. Mr Thorpe said some week’s his store sells 6000 tickets to mega draws or on average 3000 for regular 12 game entries. “It doesn’t matter who you are or how long you’ve been playing for, if you buy a ticket you’ve got a chance to win it and share in the money that’s spread around,” Mr Thorpe said. “We just love making people’s dreams come true.” The woman will continue to purchase lotto tickets at Mr Thorpe’s “lucky shop”. “We appreciate that she is a regular and local customer and she said she will continue to come here and continue to put her lotto on and share any winnings with her family. The six winning numbers in Saturday’s lotto draw were 19, 6, 37, 28, 10 and 40. The supplementary numbers were 33 and 8.
