Amping up girl tradies Geelong apprentice Hannah Terry hopes her success as an electrician provides the spark for more girls to enter the traditionally male-dominated trade. Hannah won a gold medal at this month’s national WorldSkills competition, alongside fellow Gordontrained apprentice Luke Scott. “To other females considering an apprenticeship like mine, I’d say, ‘Go for it’,” Hannah said. “You can achieve anything with the right attitude, passion and a willingness to learn and try your best.“ Hannah’s success as part of mechatronics category team have put her in line to join Australia’s Skillaroo team at an international WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi next year.
