FOCUS

EmployeeoftheMonth:KathrynRiedell

Congratulations to Kathryn Riedell on being named Employee of the Month for September! Since joining Starmount Forest in May 2021, Kathryn has made a remarkable impact with her dual-role excellence. As the manager of the Splash Bar and Grill during the summer, she has shown incredible leadership and skill, ensuring a top-notch experience for all our guests. When the seasons change, her expertise as a bartender on the banquet staff continues to shine, proving her adaptability and dedication. Kathryn’s exceptional performance and unwavering commitment to her roles make her truly deserving of this accolade. We appreciate all you do, Kathryn!

Welcome, Brant and Kara Davenport and their son, Blue.

NEW MEMBER REFERRAL PROGRAM

Dear Members,

A Note From Ray

As we bid farewell to summer, I want to share some important updates and reminders with you.

Pool Season Extension:

As previously announced, the Board of Directors has approved an extension of the adult swim season. Starting in late August, the pool was opened and will remain open every weekday, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, exclusively for adult swim. Additionally, we've added an extra weekend of full service, with the pool now scheduled to close on Sunday, September 15th.

Golf Course Restoration Project Update:

Please note that the final herbicide application to remove the existing turf is planned for the week of September 9th To ensure the safety of our members and the efficiency of the work, we kindly ask that you avoid the course during this period Brooks and his team are working diligently to prepare for the restoration project set to commence later this year

Pickleball Project Update:

For those eagerly anticipating our new Pickleball courts, we wanted to provide a brief update. Unfortunately, the city's decision to combine the erosion control permit for both the golf course and the Pickleball project has delayed our timeline. While we don't have a specific start date yet, rest assured, we are ready to begin construction as soon as we receive the necessary permits.

Employee of the Month:

I am delighted to announce Kathryn Riedell as our September Employee of the Month. Kathryn joined us in May 2021 and has since made a significant impact, working as a bartender in our banquet department and serving as a leader during the pool season at the Splash Pool Bar and Grille. Kathryn's professionalism, positive attitude, and infectious smile make her a valued member of our team. Please join me in congratulating Kathryn on your next visit to the club.

Holiday Planning:

With the holiday season approaching, now is the perfect time to start planning your celebrations or corporate events. Our clubhouse, combined with our talented culinary team, provides the perfect setting for any occasion whether it's a large milestone event or an intimate gathering As a valued Starmount member, you enjoy a 50% discount on facility rental fees Let our expert staff handle the details so you can focus on creating lasting memories For more information, please reach out to our Catering & Events Director, Emily Frazier, at (336) 358-3949

As always, I appreciate your feedback and encourage you to share your thoughts whether it's praise or suggestions for improvement I look forward to seeing you around the club

All the best,

President’s Note

To my Fellow Members of Starmount,

As we enter the final days of summer, we continue to move forward on our capital improvement plans Supplies for our irrigation system upgrades have been purchased, and this work should begin sometime before year-end. (You may have noticed the red markings on the golf course that identify existing irrigation pipes.)

We have encountered approval delays from the Greensboro City Planning and Permitting departments. We are awaiting an electrical inspection and occupancy permit for our new golf simulator building. The City Planning Department has asked us to combine our submissions for new Pickleball courts and the renovation of the golf course. Our Engineering firm is in the process of revising our plans for everything from parking access to water run-off and soil erosion.

Some good news is that our Club continues to run ahead of its year-to-date financial plans. Thanks to the capable management of our professional staff and the Finance Committee for these positive results.

On a miscellaneous note, here's a heads-up about information coming later this year as we conduct a course-closing golf tournament It will be a fun event for all golfers and will support a local charity

See you at the club!
