Serve-Be the Church

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

How can your gifts and passions best be used at SABC? The Nominating Committee is beginning work to help meet the needs of the church through committees, councils, and teams.

Committees and Councils are elected positions, while Teams are filled by those who volunteer.

Prayerfully consider how you might serve.

Check the Committees or Councils you would be interested in serving:

□ History Committee: Files news articles in the family files, works with displays, helps plan All Saints’ Sunday, and church anniversaries. □ Nominating Committee: Helps members identify their gifts and ways to use them in the church’s ministries. □ Personnel Committee: Oversees and supports paid staff.

□ Stewardship Committee: Helps create ministry budget, oversees finances, educates congregation on stewardship.

Worship Committee: Assists with worship needs of the church.

□ □ Mission Council: Offers organization and coordination of the church’s missions’ activities and ministries.

Check the Teams that you would like to join or are already serving:

□ Adult Ministry: Plans programs and activities, including trips and an □

annual Christmas party.

Baptism: Prepares the baptistery for baptisms, maintains robes and

□

towels.

Bereavement Meals: Provides a meal after funerals--some prepare food;

some serve the meal and prepare the Fellowship Hall. □ Building, Grounds & Lock-up: Tends our facility: planning, cleaning, planting, and repairs. Secures the building during and after Sunday activities.

□ Choirs: Adult Choir - Tuesday, 7 pm rehearsals. Handbells - paused □ Chrismons: Cares for Chrismon ornaments; helps place them on Chrismon tree during Advent.

Chrismon Tree: Puts up and takes down the Chrismon tree for Advent.

□ □ Community Garden: Upkeep and expand garden plots and projects (across the street from the church).

Communication Tech: Trains & runs service livestreams.

□ □ Community Meals: Prepare meals, help set-up and clean up monthly meals.

Deaf Ministry: assists with deaf community’s ministry.

□ □ Fellowship: Organizes church-wide fellowships: i.e., Valentine spaghetti □

supper, fall picnic and outings, etc.

Flowers & Decorations: Tends Easter cross, wreaths, candles, Advent

□

decorations.

Food Services: Sets up for church meal functions and maintains the

□

kitchen.

Greeters & Ushers: Meet people arriving at church and offer directions

and welcome; Offer bulletin to arriving people, assist in seating, and with emergencies. □ Homebound Ministry: Sends cards, calls or visits members who are unable to attend, provides birthday cake to members who are 90+.

Library: Catalogs books, creates displays, maintains resource collection.

□ □ Nursery: Cares for our youngest members during worship; must submit □

to a background check.

Prayer: Receive requests for prayer and lift them to God.
