OCCASIONS Starling Avenue Baptist Church Week of May 30, 2021 Transitions This Sunday we sadly say goodbye to Brian & Ashley Harrington. We hope you will join us in worship as we wish their family well. Together with the Harringtons, our leadership has been busy making sure that things happen smoothly in the days to come. Rev. Bonnylee Witt will be our guest preacher next Sunday, June 6 and our Interim Church Musician, Tony Sanders, will be joining us in person. The Worship Committee is making sure that we have guest preachers as well as lay leaders and someone running the livestream each Sunday. If you can help lead worship (scripture reading, Call to Worship, etc.) or learn how to keep our virtual membership engaged, please contact the Church Office.
Service & Ministry How can your gifts and passions best be used at SABC? The Nominating Committee is beginning work to help meet the needs of the church through committees, councils, and teams. Interest forms are located at both entrances of the church and on the church website. Prayerfully consider how you might serve, and return your form to the church office.
Special Business Meeting: June 6 To enable us to enhance our live streaming ministry, we have a proposal from Martinsville Electronics for permanent equipment to be installed in the sanctuary. Because it is “assumption of major financial responsibility by the church” the church will be called into a Special Business Meeting on Sunday, June 6. Voting will take place via email (church@starlingavenue.org) and phone (276-638-8861) through Wednesday, June 9. Watch for details about this proposal for ministry to be made available soon.
Regathering Phases: Phase 3
We are excited that we have moved to Phase 3 and have resumed gathering in the sanctuary for worship! We are holding services in-person in the sanctuary while also continuing to make worship available online. You can find all of the information about our health and safety protocols on the website and in your mailbox (both physical and electronic). We need your help in keeping everyone safe as we gather. If you can help take temperatures, write down names for contact tracing, push elevator buttons, or direct worshipers to open pews, please volunteer on our website or by calling the Church Office.
