Due to increased concern for community spread of the COVID virus, congregational hymn singing during Sunday morning services will be suspended for the time being.

Hymns will continue to be a part of the service, and everyone is encouraged to read along in their hymnals. The COVID Taskforce and Worship Committee want to thank you for your cooperation in wearing masks and maintaining proper social distance as we all work hard to keep our members and guests safe.

The Church Office will be closed on September 6 in observance of Labor Day. We will re-open on Tuesday, September 7.

The Deacon’s dinner scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, has been cancelled. Deacon’s will meet that evening for their regular Deacon’s meeting.

“PLEASE SAVE THESE DATES” The Constitution and By Laws Revision committee is working toward: 1) A September 20 deadline for mailing the revised copy of The Constitution and By Laws to all voting members of the church.

2) A discussion of the revisions on Wednesday, September 29.

3) A called business meeting Sunday, October 3, to vote on the revisions.

For your preparation to take part in the discussion about and adoption of the 2021 revised Constitution, A Glossary of Terms Used has been prepared. Copies are available in the vestibule and the media center for you today. Please take one per family.

The Henry County Baptist Association’s Annual Meeting will be held this year on October 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Ridgeway. Registration begins at 4:30 pm, followed by a meal at 5:00 pm. Pre-service music begins at 6:00 pm. We are entitled to 10 messengers. The church will cover the cost of the meal for the messengers. If you would like to serve as a messenger, please contact the church office (276-638-8861 or church@starlingavenue.org) on or before September 22. Also, advise if you will be attending the meal.

Reflections Daily Devotional Guides are located both in the Vestibule and outside the library on the 2nd floor.

Your offering envelopes are already self-addressed. All you need is a stamp and tape to reinforce.

-Drop off your envelopes in the locked mailbox outside of the Church Office.

-Set up an automatic or one-time bank draft through your bank. Simply go to your bank’s bill pay webpage. Set up Starling Avenue Baptist Church as the “payee” and have your payments automatically delivered electronically. This is simple and doesn’t cost you or the church any fees.

-Online giving available at www.starlingavenue.org. You can choose “Cover Fees” to slightly increase your gift to pay processing fees.
