jump bunch: sports enrichment

DAY AND TIME: Mondays, 3:00-3:30pm (9 Sessions)

GRADES: Twos-Prekindergarten

Does your child LOVE recess; then this enrichment session is for them! Jump Bunch is a FUN non-competitive place for children to be introduced to a wide range of sports and games in a fun, positive manner. Jump Bunch always encourages healthy habits, improved coordination, and confidence. Each class has a different sports or fitness lesson plan with individual equipment for each participant. These are just some of the sports/activities the children can play: football, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, corn hole, obstacle course and much, much more!

Soccer Shots Premier focuses on individual skill, fitness, and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.

GRADES: Third-Sixth Grade

COST: $195

In the Flag Football program, we will work on the basic rules of football through positional drills and scrimages. Players will learn positions such as quarterback (QB), wide receiver (WR) and defensive back (DB/CB/S). Quarterbacks will learn how to throw, wide receivers will learn to run routes and how to catch, and defensive backs will learn how to cover on defense. This is a great opportunity for students to learn the sport of football and have fun playing together after school.

yoga explorers

Embark on a Journey of Mindfulness and Fun in our “Yoga Explorers” program designed to introduce children to the world of yoga in a fun and engaging way. Through imaginative storytelling, age-appropriate poses, and interactive activities, children will develop flexibility, balance, mindfulness, and self-regulation skills. Our program aims to create a positive and nurturing environment where children can explore their bodies, emotions, and imagination while having a great time!

artist’s workshop

Let your creativity and imagination run wild with Mrs. Conway in this experimental Art class. What better way to understand one’s artistic self and style than to experiment with found objects and materials, with a concentration on Watercolor and Acrylic Techniques? By experimenting with mediums, textures, and processes, students will learn to dig deep and cultivate their creativity.

Soccer Shots Classic utilizes creative and imaginative games to focus on basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation.

Calling all young detectives! Step into the shoes of a real-life investigator at our Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) themed club! This club is perfect for kids with a passion for solving mysteries and cracking codes. Students will learn the art of forensic science, from collecting evidence, and analyzing fingerprints to deciphering clues and piecing together puzzles. Our experienced instructors will guide students through exciting investigative scenarios, teaching them the skills needed to become top-notch detectives. Join us for a session of intrigue, teamwork, and adventure as we unlock the secrets of the CSI world!

*Any crimes discussed in this camp will be age appropriate and will not be violent in nature.

Mrs. K’s Scrapbooking Club is a fun afterschool activity where your student’s creativity can shine! In this club, students will be given their own scrapbook journal to decorate and make their own. Students will be shown how to write in different hand-lettering scripts, be encouraged to take their own photos, given endless arts and craft supplies to use, and will be documenting memories that they can look back on for years to come. All supplies will be provided, however, students are welcome to bring in anything they would like to add!

Davy Dance Academy introduces students to three styles of dance, inspiring movement, and creativity within a positive environment! Students participate in a weekly, age-specific 45-minute dance class containing ballet and creative movement. Using props like Twinkle Bears, sparkle wands and fun, age-appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies and makes class the most fun!

GRADES: First-Third Grade

DATES: Thursday, Mar. 14 - Thursday, May 23 (No Session on 3/28 & 4/25)

Cooking Club will be full of worldwide recipes, fun, learning, deliciousness, and lots of goodies to share. This is an incredible opportunity to learn about different cultures and food from around the world as we instill a lifelong love of healthy food and cooking. Fee includes instruction, supplies, and carry home treats.

guitar for beginners (group class)

DAY AND TIME: Thursdays, 3:30-4:30pm (6 Sessions)

AGES: Fourth-Eighth Grade

DATES: Thursday, Feb. 29 - Thursday, Apr. 18 (No Session on 3/21 & 3/28)

PROVIDER: Jacqueline McDonald, Lower School Music Teacher

COST: $270

Students will learn guitar basics, such as how to tune a guitar, some basic chords and fingerpicking, and how to play one song using 3 chords. They will come away with a basic guitar knowledge that will help them delve deeper into the guitar and set the foundation for further exploration. Students must provide their own acoustic guitar for class and for practice at home. All other practice materials will be provided.

karate

DAY AND TIME: Fridays, 3:30-4:30pm (9 Sessions)

AGES: Kindergarten-Eighth Grade

DATES: Friday, Mar. 15 - Friday, May 24 (No Session on 3/29 & 4/26)

PROVIDER: Kaizen Karate

COST: $165

This popular class is a disciplined introduction to the sport by Kaizen Karate. Your child will learn the beautiful art of karate while gaining safety and defensive skills in a respectful environment. The class will also emphasize the basic karate principles of focus, patience, and self-discipline. Returning students will continue to work toward new belts while first-time students will be able to start the belt program.
