jump bunch

PROVIDER: JumpBunch

COST: $150

Does your child LOVE recess? Then this auxiliary is for them! JumpBunch is a FUN non-competitive place for children to be introduced to a wide range of sports and games in a fun, positive manner. JumpBunch always encourages healthy habits, improved coordination, and confidence. Each class has a different sports or fitness lesson plan with individual equipment for each participant. These are just some of the sports/activities the children can play: football, soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, corn hole, obstacle course and much, much more.

COST: $195

Soccer Shots Premier focuses on individual skill, fitness, and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.

COST: $195

Welcome to Flag Football! This fall we will work on the basic rules of football through positional drills and scrimmages against each other. Players will learn routes as a wide receiver, coverages as a defensive back, and throwing the football as a quarterback. Another lesson players will be learning is the importance of TEAMWORK. This program is a great opportunity for students who have an interest in football to learn the sport and have fun playing it after school with their friends and fellow classmates.

girls on the run

DAY AND TIME: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:30-5:10pm

GRADES: Third-Fifth Grade

DATES: Monday, Sept. 11 - Monday, Dec. 4 *Must register by Tuesday, Sept. 5

PROVIDER: Coaches Jessica Merchant, Jennie Rasmussen, and Audrey Williams

COST: $160 (includes: 5K registration fee, 5K medal, Post 5K celebration and a transformative experience). Scholarships available based on need.

Girls on the Run is a positive, youth development program for girls in Third-Fifth Grades. Twice a week for 10 weeks, girls will have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity, and learn important life skills. Trained and caring coaches lead girls through interactive lessons and movement activities. The season ends with a celebratory 5K event.

*Please note that once registered in the School’s Auxiliary Program (by Tuesday, Sept. 5), you will receive information about how to submit payment and register directly with Girls on the Run for the Greater Chesapeake.

PROVIDER: Pop Drama with Ms. Erica Miller

COST: $170

In this lively class, students will move and groove to their favorite Disney and Pop songs. They’ll engage in vocal and physical warm-ups, practice singing, learn choreographed dance steps, and get opportunities to perform solos. Each week features different songs, so there’s sure to be something for everyone!

DATES: Tuesday, Sept. 26 - Tuesday, Nov. 14

PROVIDER: Lindsey Conway, Lower School Art Teacher

COST: $290

Let your creativity and imagination run wild with Mrs. Conway in this experimental Art class. What better way to understand one’s artistic self and style then to experiment with found objects, materials, and tools? By experimenting with different mediums, textures, and processes kids will learn to dig deeper and cultivate creativity. Students will be able to take art work home with them at the end of the final class.

Soccer Shots Classic utilizes creative and imaginative games to focus on basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork, and appreciation.

DAY AND TIME: Thursdays, 3:15-4:00pm

DATES: Thursday, Sept. 28 - Thursday, Dec. 14

PROVIDER: Davy Dance Academy

COST: $150

Davy Dance Academy introduces students to three styles of dance, inspiring movement, and creativity within a positive environment. Students participate in weekly, age-specific, 45-minute dance classes containing ballet and creative movement over the course of a 10-week session. Using props like Twinkle Bears, sparkle wands, and fun, age-appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies and makes class the most fun!

GRADES: Kindergarten-Eighth Grade

DATES: Thursday, Sept. 28 - Thursday, Dec. 14

PROVIDER: Magnus Chess

COST: $270

Join the 100,000 (and counting!) kids who’ve learned chess with the official academy of 5-time World Champion, Magnus Carlsen. This in-person club includes online extras like practice tournaments, Chesskid Gold membership ($69 value) and a bonus lesson with either Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player ever!

DAY AND TIME: Fridays, 3:15-4:15pm

GRADES: Kindergarten-Second Grade

DATES: Friday, Sept. 29 - Friday, Dec. 8

PROVIDER: The Science Guys

COST: $160

Students learn how to utilize the Engineering Design Process to solve problems and complete challenges, such as building bridges, skyscrapers, and spheres! The program also includes tons of creative free building, so students are challenged to work together and use their engineering skills.

GRADES: Kindergarten-Fifth Grade

DATES: Friday, Sept. 29 - Friday, Dec. 8

PROVIDER: Kaizen Karate

COST: $175

This popular class is a disciplined introduction to the sport by Kaizen Karate. Your child will learn the beautiful art of karate while gaining safety and defensive skills in a respectful environment. The class will also emphasize the basic karate principles of focus, patience, and self-discipline. Returning students will continue to work toward new belts while first-time students will be able to start the belt program.
