An overview of Lotemax Gel

How is it Supplied?

• LOTEMAX (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic gel) 0.5% contains 5 mg/g of loteprednol etabonate, as a sterile preserved ophthalmic gel.

• LOTEMAX (loteprednol etabonate ophthalmic gel) 0.5% is a sterile ophthalmic gel supplied in a white low density polyethylene plastic bottle with a white measured drop tip and a pink polypropylene cap in the following size: • 5 g in a 10 mL bottle • This product is to be used only if imprinted neckband is intact or not broken.

How to use?

• Do not garb contact lenses while using this medication. Sterilize contact lenses as per the manufacturer's directions, and ask doctor before using them again.

• After washing hands, open the cap. Do not touch the bottle tip to avoid contamination. Let it touch your eye or any other surface.

• Turn the bottle upside down and shake once to fill the tip with gel.

• Gently pull down the lower eyelid and put the prescribed number of drops into the eye pouch.

• Gently close the eye and roll the eyeball in all directions to spread the medication.

• Try not to blink.

• Do not rub the eye.

• Repeat these steps for another eye if directed.

What should be known before using Lotemax gel? • Before using loteprednol, check with doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you prone to any other allergies. • Inform doctor or pharmacist about medical history, particularly a history of eye infections, cataracts, glaucoma, severe nearsightedness (myopia), and diabetes before using this product.

Other Precautions • After use, vision may become temporarily blurred. Avoid driving, using machinery, or any activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you can perform such events without harm. • Before having surgery, communicate doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).

What can be done in case of a nee eye problem during the therapy? • If you develop a new eye infection or injury, or require eye surgery, ask your doctor if you should continue to use your current bottle of loteprednol eye gel or start a new bottle.
