PTA President 2024-2025
Dear students, parents, and teachers,
Welcome to a new school year! We celebrate and embrace the importance of Living in Abundance and Growing in Excellence!
Our theme reminds us that abundance is not just about what we have but about the mindset we cultivate - one of gratitude, generosity, and growth.
As we strive for excellence in all we do, we will continue to nurture a community that values - integrity and honesty, reverence for God, discipline, excellence, respect, kindness, and compassion. We will support one another in our pursuits, celebrate our successes, and learn from our challenges.
Let us embrace this year with open hearts and minds, ready to learn, embracing the abundance of possibilities, and growing into our best selves. The PTA needs each member to get involved - pay the PTA dues, volunteer, or join a committee.
Welcome back, and let's make this our school's 99th year of existence, extraordinary!

10 Questions with an Alum
Maxine A. Henry Wilson Chairperson SAHS Foundation
1. What is the funniest thing that happened when you were at school?
The most amusing/amazing thing was to see the faces of the teachers when male students drove into the School. Some were outraged – boys were not allowed on the Campus without having a ‘pre-authorised’ purpose and visiting their girlfriends. The teachers’ expressions seemed to convey the notion that boys were from Mars – extraterrestrial beings!
2. What has been the most useful non-academic lesson or skill learnt at SAHS? Leadership in all its facets – influencing others based on sound values, quiet confidence, articulate and measured communication, knowing what is appropriate - code switching – being decisive without being intolerant, diversity – to name some of the assets.
3. What makes Andrews different from other schools?
The well-rounded nature of the experience both inside and outside the classroom. A strong tradition of excellence which presents role models from past students.
4. What advice would you give your younger self?
Make sure you take full advantage of all that you experience at School.
5. If you could share one life lesson with the ladies at SAHS, what would it be?
Just as in 4) above – the experience is multidimensional and includes both the academic and the social.
6. What project are you working on now?
My current projects are through the Foundation – leaving a legacy of improved state of the art facilities for our students including a renovated technology centre and the forthcoming Student Hostel and a proposed Performing Arts Centre.
7. ’Life More Abundant’ - does this motto still resonate with you?
‘Life More Abundant’ is an enduring promise of being the best for the best. It is not a passive approach to life. It is enriching our legacy, always.
8. How do you see SAHS evolution to meet the current times since you have left the school?
The School’s activities are guided by a School Improvement Plan which uses the present to plan for and realise the future. This vision of the future is comprehensive – morally rooted, technology driven. The leadership at all levels is being prepared for their roles. The infrastructure is being made ‘fit for purpose’. The stakeholders are fully involved.
9. Which House was always the Champion House when you were at School and were you a member? Sad to say, it was not Anderson House of which I was a member but Cavell.
10. What was your most memorable moment at Sports Day?
My most memorable moment(s) were when Anderson won a race.
