MUSEUM + GALLERY HOSTS BIGGEST EXHIBITION YET! The new £7.75 million St Albans Museum + Gallery is hosting its biggest exhibition yet – featuring internationallyrenowned artist and sculptor Barbara Hepworth. Hepworth, who died aged 72 in 1975, is one of the few female artists of her time to achieve worldwide prominence. The exhibition is focused on the years 1948 to 1953 when Hepworth concentrated on capturing the human form across drawing and sculpture.

Meanwhile, the new St Albans Museum + Gallery staff are celebrating visitor numbers that were 63% above target during the first seven months. More than 195,000 people visited the attraction between its opening in early June last year to the end of December – almost reaching the 12-month target of 200,000. More details on what is happening at St Albans Museums are on Page 3.
