At an inter-school level: • Winner of the Joan Benson Percentage Cup & Third in the Aggregate - QGSSSA Cross Country Championships • Winner of the Inala District Junior School Championships • Second in the Percentage Cup - Andrews Cup Cross Country Championships
NATIO NAL CHAMPIO N The unheralded performances of St Aidan’s athletes have continued at state and national levels – with a highlight being Madeleine Attlee (pictured right) crowning as a national champion for her run in the Under 16 400m. St Aidan’s athletes had 12 top eight finishes at the recent Queensland Junior Athletics Championships. Kate Riethmuller (U/14), Romany Beckinsale, Madeleine Attlee (U/16), Erin Sundstrom, Madi Trainor, Rhoda Thornton and Libby Jacques (U/18) qualified to represent Queensland at the Australian Junior Championships in Sydney. A number of these athletes continued on this success with five top ten finishes at the Australian Championships, highlighted by Madeleine Attlee’s gold medal victory in the Under 16 400m. At a state level: • Queensland Champions in the 3 x 4km at the State Relay Championships; • Fastest school in the state, claiming a thrilling victory in the Queensland Athletics Champion School of QLD 4 x 100m Challenge; • 12 ‘top 8’ finishes - 2014 Queensland Junior Athletics Championships; • 30 Athletes qualified to compete at the Met West Regional Cross Country Championships • 11 St Aidan’s girls qualified to compete at the Queensland Schools Cross Country Championships • Seven students qualifying to represent Queensland at the Australian Junior Championships; At a national level: • 5 ‘top 10’ finishes at the Australian Championships; and • Gold for Madeleine Attlee’s in the Under 16 400m. • Madeleine Attlee, Erin Sundstrom, Rhoda Thornton selected for the Queensland Athletics A-Squad • Libby Jacques and Katie Colebourne selected for the Queensland Athletics Q-Squad At an international level: • Sixth place for Libby Jacques competing for Australia at the World School Cross Country Championships in Israel.
