GLOBAL SUMMER SCHOOL 2024

WELCOME

TO STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY’S GLOBAL SUMMER SCHOOL We are delighted to welcome to you our Staffordshire University Global Summer School and hope you have an amazing experience. You will be based on our main campus, which is located in the friendly and diverse city of Stoke-onTrent, in the heart of the UK. Students voted us one of Britain’s top 5 places to study (StudentCrowd University Awards 2022) and you’ll get to discover for yourself what makes us so special. We’ve got great connections too as the University is next door to a mainline train station. Catch a train and you can reach Manchester in 40 minutes, Birmingham in 50 minutes and London in just 90 minutes. You’ll find a comfortable home from home in our campus accommodation, where you can make friends with other students and sample life here. We’ve invested in fantastic new buildings and lots of digital technology. We’ve also got plenty of venues at Staffordshire University where you can relax, eat and drink. During your stay, we plan to show you some of Staffordshire’s top visitor attractions, such as picturesque Trentham Gardens which has its own unique shopping village and if you like rollercoasters, you’ll love Alton Towers Resort. Stoke-on-Trent is famous for being the world capital of ceramics, so we’ve pencilled in a visit to the home of Wedgwood pottery. There’s plenty of culture and entertainment on our doorstep as well, including theatres, cinemas, art galleries and museums. What’s more, our campus is within walking distance of the city centre’s shops, cafes and bars – and a short stroll away from 60-acre Hanley Park. On the following pages, you’ll find more details of the Summer School’s example itinerary. Please note, changes may be needed for operational reasons. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions and we’ll be happy to help. We also have a dedicated Student Support and Experience Team ready to welcome you. If you need to contact them during your stay, email: student-support@staffs.ac.uk

SEE YOU SOON!
