New staff welcomed to St Gregory’s College in 2021.

St Greg’s has benefitted from the arrival of several new members to our College.

Miss Bianca Suraci Enrolments Registrar (K-12)

Ms Bianca Suraci commenced at St Gregory’s College on Monday 18 October 2021 as the new Enrolments Registrar (K-12). Bianca was previously employed as the Administration Officer at Challenge Community Services, a foster carer agency and NDIS provider. In this role, she had responsibility for a wide breadth of office management duties including staff training and induction, events management, budgeting, and team communications. Prior to this, Bianca worked as a Schools Administration Officer.

Bianca has completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration along with a Statement of Attainment in Executive Skills. More recently, Bianca fulfilled the requirements to be awarded a Certificate IV in Human Resources. She has also partially completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a dual major specialising in marketing and management. Apart from her formal qualifications, Bianca has achieved advanced proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Suite and Adobe and a range of other software used in delivering presentations. She is also very experienced and highly literate in the use of a range of social media platforms.

Bianca also brings to this role a demonstrated strong background in areas such as customer service and positive stakeholder engagement, effective change management processes, facilitation of complex team collaboration exercises as well as highly developed verbal and written communication skills. The College extends a very warm welcome to Bianca as she joins the St Gregory’s College community, and we wish her every success and happiness in this new role and for her time at the College.

Miss Skye Baxter Farm Assistant

Ms Skye Baxter commenced on Monday 26 July in the role of Farm Assistant. Skye had recently completed a very successful fourmonth temporary appointment in this role, demonstrating a tremendous willingness to gain considerable new knowledge and skills to add to her previous range of farm experiences. In addition to the work on the farm, Skye has also been involved in supporting the educational program at the College, including the agricultural shows and Show Team.

Prior to her time at St Greg’s, Skye held a range of Farm Hand positions with companies such as Settler Simmentals, Muscateer Valley Lowlines and Mill Farm Silkies. She has completed a Certificate II in Agriculture and she also has several other achievements to her name including the 2019 Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment Scholarship, 2018 Hawkesbury Junior Showgirl and member of the 2016 Western Sydney University Forum.

Apart from her direct work with farm animals, including cattle, sheep and poultry, Skye has experience with equipment maintenance and farm machinery operation. She has also gained experiences in livestock handling, farm maintenance, feeding routines and workplace health and safety. Skye also has experience preparing livestock for shows, including educating students on the way to handle and care for livestock. We congratulate Skye and we wish her a very happy and successful time at the College.

Mr Nicholas Bestulic HSIE (History) Teacher

Mr Nicholas Bestulic commenced his employment at St Gregory’s College on Monday 16 August 2021. Nicholas is a graduate of St Gregory’s College, completing his Higher School Certificate in 2016. He then commenced his tertiary studies and has since successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts (Archaeology & Ancient History and Philosophical Psychology) through the University of Wollongong. Nicholas is currently nearing completion to fulfil the requirements for a Masters Degree (Secondary Teaching – HSIE) and Graduate Certificate in Religious Education through the Australian Catholic University. Nicholas has recently been engaged in a combination of paid and voluntary work as a private English Tutor assisting adults to improve their verbal, written, and reading English skills, in preparation for their International English Language Testing System Exam (IELTS). In following his passion for archaeology, Nicholas was the excavation team leader in the University of Wollongong Archaeological Excavation in 2019 involved with the archaeological excavation and research of the Bundanon Trust sight, Illaroo for which he was required to submit an extensive report on the team findings.

We congratulate Nicholas on his appointment and extend a warm welcome back to the St Gregory’s College community. We take this opportunity to wish Nicholas all the very best as he commences this position.

Mr Andrew Andrews Science Teacher

We congratulate Mr Andrew Andrews on his appointment to the position of Science teacher. Andy commenced his employment with St Gregory’s College during Term 3. He was previously employed as the Assistant Science Coordinator at De La Salle College Bankstown, a position he also held in his time at Kogarah Marist. Andy was also employed for sixteen years at Waverley College where he was a Year Coordinator for eight years.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Education, both from the University of Sydney. He also completed a Graduate Certificate in Chemistry through the Australian Catholic University. Andy is a very experienced teacher, having taught Stage 4 & 5 Science for twenty-eight years and Stage 6 Chemistry for twenty-one years. He is an experienced marker of HSC Chemistry and his students have excelled with his dynamic, challenging and learnerorientated approach. Science and Chemistry, in particular, has been a lifelong passion for Andy and this shines through and inspires his students. Outside of the classroom, Andy has been actively involved in coaching debating, cricket, football, and tennis teams.
