The Honors Program

A pathway to excellence
Are you the one ... with your eyes on the horizon, looking for the next challenge? With your hand in the air, unafraid to ask the hard question? With your mind open, creating connections with those around you?
If so, you’re someone we want in our honors community.
The Honors Program at St. Norbert College provides a uniquely challenging — and rewarding — path for students eager to distinguish themselves inside and outside the classroom. Select students are invited to join a living-learning community and embark on a four-year course of study specifically designed to inspire and empower a lifetime of excellence and leadership.
Signature benefits of the Honors Program
Living-learning experience: First-year honors students live in residency with other honors students in Bergstrom Hall.
Unique honors curriculum: Students take smaller, seminar-style courses that emphasize independent, interdisciplinary learning; global awareness and cultural competence; and community leadership.
Unmatched student-faculty interaction: Special sections of Core Curriculum courses are reserved for honors students only, with small enrollments and intensive student-faculty collaboration.

Priority registration: Beginning in their first year, honors students register before others in their class, giving them first pick of classes, meeting times and professors.
Honors Global Seminars: Flexible and affordable two-week, creditbearing opportunities for international study.
Peer mentorship: All first-year students in the Honors Program meet regularly with upperclassmen/women with similar majors and/or interests throughout the first year of college life.
Preparation for post-graduate success: The Honors Program offers special courses designed to prepare students for success in their future endeavors, and supports vocational reflection as a starting point for discerning one’s post-graduate path. 24 honors students accepted into medical school, 2018-22 42% onoH r s

“Joining the Honors Program was one of the best decisions I made at SNC. As a first year student, I enjoyed living in Bergstrom Hall with a community of like-minded individuals. I met some of my closest friends through casual games and conversation in the Bergstrom lounge and participating together in honors-sponsored events like trivia. Through the Honors Program, I also benefited from honors courses, learning opportunities, and fun social events. Most important, the Honors Program connected me to a network of students, faculty and staff that have had a lasting impact on my educational journey.”
