A Time of New Life …...

April boasts the most solemn and sublime event of human history: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ – the Paschal mystery. Though the way to the Resurrection was the Via Crucis, the Sacrificial Lamb of God is now and forever Christ our Light, the Eternal high priest of the New Covenant. And his sorrowful mother, the Stabat Mater of Good Friday, is now the jubilant Mother of the Regina Caeli.

We the members of Christ’s Mystical Body exalt in the mystery by which we were redeemed. If in Baptism we were buried with Christ, so also will we share in his resurrection. By his death we were reborn; “by his stripes we were healed.” (Is 53:5) Easter, the epicenter of time, is the event that links time and eternity. It is indeed “the day the Lord has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.” (Ps 118:24)

New IHC Scholarship Opportunity– All students in grades 7-12 are eligible for a brand new scholarship opportunity. The Donald and Bernice Gardner Memorial Scholarship. Students are chosen based on financial need and demonstrated involvement in their given faith. Students do not have to be Catholic to be considered for the new scholarship– students of any denomination may apply. Application packets are due to the Northern New York Community Foundation by May 2, 2016.

CATHOLIC WOMEN OF THE CHAPEL is open to all women with an affiliation with the military and Fort Drum Community, whether they be cradle Catholics, converts or curious about the Catholic faith.

We welcome all women to join us for fellowship, prayer and study within the military community. We have two study times: Tuesday evenings from 1800-1915.

A note from our Choir Director; Mrs. Katie Jones The choir at St. Michael’s wishes you a joyous Easter season. Now that we are singing the Gloria again, please sing with us!

The numbers for the service music will remain on our hymn boards for easy access to works and/or music.

Our choir at St. Michael’s is a volunteer choir– we welcome all new members! You do not have to make a long-term commitment to join us. For our Saturday night Mass, we rehearse at 4pm/1600. For the Sunday morning Mass we rehearse at 0815.

ST. MICHAEL’S SAINTS CLUB HOMESCHOOL GROUP follows the Kids 4 Jesus Curriculum (K4J) with meetings being held the third Thursday of every month from 1300-1500.

24 April– NO CLASS (SPRING BREAK) 30 April-CONFIRM ATION MASS CELEBRATION 1700 (Saturday) First Communion and Confirmation Preparation Classes will meet on Tuesday evenings at 1800 in the multipurpose Room of the Main Post Chapel. All Students who will be receiving the Sacrament of either First Holy Communion or Confirmation must attend these REQUIRED classes. If you have not submitted the required documents for the above classes, please do so as soon as possible (ie. Baptism certificate, First Communion Certificate, Sponsor Paperwork).

Catholic Religious Education: Religious Education Classes for Preschool through High School and an Adult Formation/Enrichment Program is held each Sunday morning from 1015-1115.
