ARTIST RECEPTION GALLERY (2ND FLOOR BY THE SANCTUARY) • 10:30AM-12:30PM We are honored to have Deonna Craig and Ashley Nora exhibit their work for Black History Month. Deonna is the 2021-2022 Visiting Artist at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and the 2020-2021 Virtual Resident Artist at The Madam Walker Legacy Center. She is also the President of the Eighteen Art Collective comprised of the 18 artists that painted the Black Lives Matter mural on Indiana Avenue. Ashley uses portraiture to capture real moments of human interaction.

ORANGE RIBBON MEMORIAL SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 • 10:30AM • OUTSIDE OF ROBERTSON CHAPEL To remember the 229 people who died because of criminal gun violence in Indianapolis in 2021 we will display their orange ribbons and pictures in the Gathering Area and outside Robertson. EXPLORING MEMBERSHIP SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 • 12:15PM • GREAT HALL This class will help you learn more about the United Methodist Church and the process for formally joining St. Luke’s. Here you’ll learn more about who we are, our beliefs, and our mission. You’ll also get to hear the story of our church and discuss what it means to be a member of this local congregation through serving, growing in your faith journey, moving toward generosity, and more. The class runs from 12:152:45PM. Lunch will be served in the Great Hall. Please note childcare needs on the registration at stlukesumc.com/events.

ORANGE RIBBON MEMORIAL SERVICE THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17 • 7:30PM • ONLINE Join those who have been praying for the families and friends of the 2021 criminal homicide victims. We will read the names of the people who died and show their pictures. Please bring a candle with you to the service so that you can take part. We will also announce our plans for 2022 as we continue to work to reduce gun violence in Indianapolis. Register for this event to receive the Zoom link at stlukesumc.com/ events. STARTING POINT WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16 • 7PM • ONLINE Starting Point is a casual 30-minute class for those new to St. Luke’s. Gain an orientation to St. Luke’s and leave with recommended next steps to help you find your place within the church. It’s also a great way to meet others who are new and find community! Leader: This is Black History Month: an opportunity for us to remember those who forged a way toward God’s vision of a world where Black Lives could be fully celebrated and honored. We remember Methodists like Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Mary McLeod Bethune, and Rosa Parks. These and many other bold and brave and black leaders represent a great cloud of witnesses. Their spirits linger with us inspiring new generations of warriors, preachers, prophets, teachers, activists, organizers, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters of the African Diaspora.

All: Thank you, God, for the great leaders of freedom.

Leader: The Bible says, “After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one

could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages standing before the throne and before the Lamb” (Rev. 7:9). Come, let us join that great multitude and worship together.

All: Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!
