Our Athletic Department’s philosophy is that our student athlete’s pursuits on the field should be equally measured with those off of it. To that end, a Bloodhound athlete should pursue personal growth through academic work, team experiences, and as an ambassador of our school. The department strives to maintain an outstanding athletics program, conducted in a manner of our Marist faith. Thank you for being a member of the 101 Club. I hope you remain engaged in our Bloodhound sports and continue to support SJA as we shoot for the stars through life’s difficulties. SWEETHEARTS PLACE 3RD AT STATE WACO- The Sweethearts placed third at their state meet in Waco earlier this month. After last years state title run, the Sweethearts remained competative despite moving up a division. “I am incredibly proud of our team for their outstanding achievements.”
Said head coach Daniela Espinosa. “I could not be prouder of the grace and passion they bring to the floor.” Along with their third place finish, Frida Zedillo and Susy Filizola recieved first team All-State. Ingrid Vicent and Mariarenne Leal each brought back second team All-State.

The SJA swim team has improved each meet. The program has over 30 swimmers and are guided by first-year coach Rodrigo Elizondo. SJA is coming off their regional meet in San Antonio.

POWERLIFTING
2019 was the last time the Bloodhounds competed in powerlifting. This year powerlifting returns to SJA. The team is led by first-year coach Neto Torres. The Hounds have competed in Santa Rosa and most recently in Brownsvillle.
