Bob Torre ‘61 Honored by SFP Football program at Annual Dinner Bob Torre ‘61 was honored at the 59th Annual SFP Football Awards Dinner January. He was not only incredibly proud to be honored that night, but he was the most enthusiastic event honorees in recent memory. In fact, family, friends and colleagues of Bob’s sponsored a record number of dinner journal ads which totaled more than $25,000! Bob is no stranger to fund raising either. He is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Hackensack University Medical Center Foundation, where he is responsible for the day-today management of the Foundation and the overall fund raising plan and development program for the $1.4 billion Hackensack University Medical Center. He has devoted his entire career to public service at not-for-profit colleges and universities and hospitals.

He has served as a board member on numerous other non-profit organizations and has been recognized for his contributions to both his community and the healthcare industry on several occasions. In addition, Bob has presented papers and been a guest speaker at numerous professional fund raising conferences. He is the author of 11 published articles and one book, which covers all aspects of professional fund raising including media, marketing, direct mail and estate planning. Bob earned a BA in psychology from the University of Connecticut. He is the father of four children and has eight grandchildren. SFP Alumni Honored at Citifield Several St. Francis Prep alumni were among the community and business leaders who were recognized on February 3rd for their achievements at The Queens Courier’s third annual Rising Stars Awards & Networking Event at Citi Field. These “Rising Stars” were selected not only because they excel in their chosen professional fields, but because they are also active in giving back to the community. April Brown ‘88, is the Director of Corporate Relations at the American Cancer Society, and Frances Scarantino, ‘90, is the Founder and President of S.T.A.R.S. Youth Center. Neil A. Carousso ‘13, a a sophomore at St. Francis

Prep, whose involvement includes being an announcer on SFP TV and a reporter, received the “Rookie of the Year” Award. Neil is also part of a larger Prep family—his mother Rosemarie Agusta Carousso ‘81 and father Neil G. Carousso ‘81 are Prep graduates, as well as his sister, Christina Carousso ‘09.
