1982 Janis L. Cowhey-McDonagh resides in Baldwin Harbor with her two wonderful boys and is a partner in a large accounting firm and law firm in Manhattan. 1983 Raymond P. Alma was the winner of the National Cartoonist Society, 2010 Reuben Award for BEST MAGAZINE ILLUSTRATION. Nancy L. Fernandez-Ryan is happily married to Philip Ryan for 16 years. They have two children and reside in Westbury. Patrick J. Piccininni is a candidate for Judge of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas this November. He has been living in Columbus, Ohio since graduation. He was admitted to the bars of Ohio and Illinois (inactive), the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the Northern District of Illinois. He is currently practicing law with the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, with a primary focus on Election Law and Civil Litigation. After attending St. Francis Prep, Peter J. Rappa, MD went on to study at Columbia University where he graduated with a BA. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University and is now a rehabilitation physician in North Texas. In 1993, Dr. Rappa began his career as a medical director for rehabilitation in an impatient/outpatient practice with a special interest in brain and work injury. In 2004, he was named as one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas. Dr. Rappa began to see the connections and implications of mind, body, spirit, and health in 1998. His book, “Healing Heart to Soul,”recounts experiences he has had with these entities as a health care professional.
Steven R. DiSalvo ‘80 Appointed New President of Marian University in Wisconsin The Marian University Board of Trustees announced February 12, 2010 that it has appointed Steven R. DiSalvo, Ph.D., as the new president of the university, effective July 1, 2010. DiSalvo will succeed Sr. Mary Mollison, C.S.A., who has been serving as interim president since March 2009. “I am both honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as the 14th president of Marian University,” said DiSalvo.
