Building our Future – the Campaign for St. Patrick’s College Cultur al and Sporting Precinct

St. Patrick’s College will soon embark on the next stage of its Master Plan. The construction of the Cultural and Sporting Precinct in Pier Avenue will cost over $8 million and will enable the College to continue to provide essential resources for our current and future students. The Precinct will house individual music rehearsal spaces, state of the art recording studios, modern creative arts classrooms and an innovative multisport court, which can be converted into a 2,000 seat auditorium. Early in 2015 members of the St. Patrick’s College community will have the chance to purchase a seat in the new building. This unique opportunity will provide an ideal way for your family’s name to go down in history. Keep your eye out for further details.

Foundation Lev y Thank you to those parents who are supporting the Foundation via the new tax deductible levy included with your son’s school fees. We are incredibly fortunate to have a large percentage of the College community support this voluntary contribution of $33 per term. Your donation will support the next phase of the College’s Master Plan the construction of the multi

million dollar state of the art Cultural and Sporting Precinct due to commence later this year. Tax deductible receipts will be distributed after 30 June each year. Thank you once again for your support. Together we can create a wonderful legacy for current and future generations of St. Patrick’s College students.

Foundation Events St. Patrick’s College recently hosted a marquee at the Deagon Community Race Day. Our Bollywood theme proved a hit and we can be confident in saying that once again the St. Patrick’s College marquee was the “talk of the town”. Guests were treated to a fabulous feast (including buffet) courtesy of the Coffee Club, Bollywood dancers and

the opportunity to embrace the Indian culture through henna painting. Thanks to our major sponsors the Coffee Club Sandgate. Their support ensured the day was an overwhelming success. We also must thank our silver sponsors Sandgate Physical Health Clinic and Wired Orthodontics.

Earlier in the year, the St. Patrick’s College Foundation hosted yet another successful Business Breakfast. This year we welcomed back past student and former College Captain, Hayden Neeland. Hayden has a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) from Monash University. Hayden’s reflection on his journey from a past student to an associate in the investment banking division at Morgan Stanley, proved both inspirational and motivating. Hayden can be rightfully proud of his many achievements since his graduation only eleven years ago. Special thanks to our breakfast sponsors Sandgate Pest Control, Tax Free, Hunter Premium Funding and Coffee Club Sandgate. In 2015, the Foundation will once again host a series of fundraising events. Keep your eye out for further details.

2015 Milestone Reunions Next year, St. Patrick’s College plans to hold reunions for the following milestone years – 1965, 1975, 1985 and 2005. If you were a part of these graduating years please contact us so we can pass on your details to reunion organisers. Our past students are important to us and we are keen to celebrate and share

In order to keep you fully informed, St. Patrick’s College needs your correct contact details. Rest assured, we value your privacy and will never share your particulars for any other purpose. To update your details please email Stacey Bishop at sbishop@stpatricks.qld.edu.au.

Willis Group Bursary Special thanks to Paul MacDermott and the Willis Group for their generous commitment to support a bursary student in 2015 and for the next 6 years. The Willis Group’s contribution to the bursary program during this time will be well over $50 000. This year we welcomed our first bursary recipient to the College while in 2015 we are offering two bursaries – The Edmund Rice Bursary and the Willis Group Bursary. Bursaries are open to new students (currently not enrolled) whose families face financial hardship and subsequently would not have an opportunity to attend St. Patrick’s College. Applications for 2015 bursaries are currently closed but we will notify the College community when 2016 bursary applications are advertised. We thank Paul and the Willis Group for their constant support and generosity. What a wonderful gift and life changing opportunity for a future St. Patrick’s College young man.
