CAREER FAIRS

CHEAT SHEET

Review the information below prior to attending a career fair. For any questions, contact Lacy White (lwhite@ssr-inc.com) or Erin Sokol (esokol@ssr-inc.com).

Supplies / Swag

• You will receive swag, information fliers, a tablecloth, and banner stand from your respective admin

• Bring back all swag, information fliers, tablecloth, and banner stand — nothing should be left at the fair

Before The Career Fair

• Review the information flier and be able to summarize SSR benefits, perks, etc.

• Arrive early to allow time for parking, getting to the location of the fair, and setting up the table

• Educate yourself on the different Business Units at SSR (Building Enclosure, Technology, Industrial, Commissioning, etc.)

• Be prepared to answer questions regarding career paths (switching Business Units, positions that don’t need a PE, etc.)

• Review the list of openings provided and familiarize yourself with them

• When setting up the table, be sure it looks presentable

At The Career Fair

• Take all physical resumes and bring back to HR — encourage candidates to apply for the position online

• Assess level of interest — did they do their research ahead of time, did they approach our table?

• Write any important notes for the candidate on the sticky notes provided — location, first availability, etc. — do not write on the resume

• Circle your rating of the candidate on the sticky note (1: very interested // 2: should reach out // 3: not interested in hiring)

• Be conscientious of comments you write in front of the student
