Inthespringof1963whatfundstheclubhadwerehandedtofootballsecretaryBoris Suhanski.UtilisingthesefundsGoytreUnitedFootballClubwasreborn.Theclubweremembers ofthePortTalbotandDistrictFootballLeaguebutwerepromotedtotheSouthWales AmateurLeagueinthelatesixties.Afterasuccessfulopeningspellthingsbecamemore difficultandtheclubwaseventuallyrelegatedbackintothePortTalbotLeagueinthelate seventies.
In1982theGoytreUnitedAFCSocialClubopened.
AperiodoftenyearspassedwhentheclubcompetedinthePortTalbotandDistrictLeague. Duringthistimetheclubgrewinstatureonandoffthefieldandin1988wasre-electedback intotheSouthWalesAmateurLeague.Inthe1989–90seasontheclubsecuredpromotionto theFirstDivisionoftheSouthWalesAmateurLeague.Alsointhisyeara350all-seating grandstandwasbuilt.
Inthe1990–91seasontheclubwerepromotedtotheWelshFootballLeagueandon24 August1991playedtheirfirstmatchagainstMilfordUnited.Sincetheclub'selevationintothe WelshLeague,steadyimprovementshavebeenmadebothonandoffthepitchandin2000 floodlightswereerected.Inthe2003–2004seasontheclubattaineditshighestpositionwithin theLeaguewhenitendedtheseasonintherunners-upspotindivisiononeandjustmissedout onpromotiontotheWelshPremierLeague.
Inthe2004–05seasontheclubwontheLeagueChallengeCupforthefirsttimeatTonPentre. Furtherhistorywasmadeinthe2005–06seasonwhentheclubliftedtheWelshLeagueFirst DivisionChampionship,onlylosingthreegames.However,theychosetoremainintheWelsh LeagueFirstDivisionforthe2006–07season.Normally,thetopclubsfromeachofthetwo feederleagues(theWelshLeagueFirstDivisionandtheCymruAlliance)arepromotedsubject toanapplicationformembershipoftheWelshPremierLeaguebeingreceivedandaccepted andthestadiumandinfrastructuresafetycriteriaoftheLeaguebeingmet.GoytreUnited electednottoapplyforpromotion,andtheFirstDivisionrunners-up,NeathAthleticfailedto meetthestadiumcriteriaandhadtheirbidforpromotionrejected.
Inthe2006–07season,thereserveteamwontheWelshLeagueReserveWestDivisionforthe firsttimeintheclub'shistory,guidedbyformerteamplayer/managerPaulWiseman.
In2007–08theywontheWelshFootballLeagueagain,butoncemoretheydeclinedtoapply forpromotiontotheWelshPremierLeague.
In2008-09thesamesituationoccurredwithGoytrewinningtheWelshFootballLeaguefora thirdtime,butwerestilldeniedpromotion.
Inthe2022/23SeasonintheCymruSouthGoytrestartedofftheseasonwithMarkPikeasthe manager.Goytregotofftoabadstartwiththefirstgameoftheseasonwhichwasinthe NathanialMGCuptakingaheftydefeattoTrefelinwhichended6–1withYoungsterAlex Waltersscoringtheonlygoal.Thingswerelookingpromisingaftertaking4pointsfromoutfirst2 gamesagainstSwanseaUniversityandCambrianandClydachVale.Theseasontookaturn fortheworseafterpickingup4pointsoutofapossible30inthenext10gameswhichhadus sittingintherelegationzonewiththepossibilityofrelegationforthefirsttimein20+years.At thestartofDecembertheclubschairmanLyndonmadetheharddecisionofpartingways withthecurrentcoachingteamtobringinthepreviousseasonswinningmanagerKarlLewis andhisteamofcoaches.KarlgotofftoagreatstartbybeatinghisoldclubLlantwitMajor4-3 whoweresittinginthetophalfofthetable.Fromthe18remaininggamesKarlhadtorescue Goytrefromtherelegationzonehemanagedtotake24pointsandsecuredGoytresplacein theCymruSouthforthe2023/24season.AfantasticjobdonebyKarlandtheteamwhonow focusonbringingGoytrebacktowheretheybelong.AlsobigcredittoLyndonandall involvedwhoactedfastwiththebestinterestoftheclubinmind.
